Once you format the sd card, the computer changes the management and sytem files and makes the sd card ready for use with the computer. so you should be getting an format error.it's recommended that you format the recording media using the device you intend to use it with.i this case, since your using a camera, format the sd card using the camera.check camera instruction manual for additional info where to pull up format option in the menu settings.hope this info helps.tnx:)

How do I correct a sd card error display

you may have to format the card using a pc/laptop, if the laptop picks the card up then format the card using FATx or FAT32 do not use NTFS for cards (you can use it but not recommended if using it in various electronic devices) if the card wont format then its simply faulty and a new one is needed.

What model Kodak camera? Are you sure you have an SD card, 2GB or smaller? Many Kodak models won't work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

I got the e327 photosmart, and I jsut put in the 8gb sd card in the camera. Does not work. It wont even let me format the card at all. The screen turns on but I cant even take a picture. Can this camera...

The E327 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it's electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed to accept SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My polaroid dvf 130 camcorder won't connect to my computer.the software it came with says it doesnt need a driver since I have windows xp what should I do?

this is what i did, and it worked perfectly. go out and get a sd card * any gig u want* as soon as u put the sd card into the camera, FORMAT IT!!!!. do that before u do anything else. don't format it on ur pc or laptop. format it on the camera. if u do that it will work perfectly. i don't know why it wasn't in the manual to format sd card first. but if u try to take pics first, that will mess up the entire system and u will be assed out a sd card. it took me 3 sd cards to figure this out. the cards worked fine but not in the camera. then i formatted it on the camera first and it works fine. the other sd cards i use for other things, i won't discard them but they won't work in the cam. but remember again GET NEW SD CARD AND FORMAT THE CARD IN THE CAMERA FIRST.

My camera wont let me use an sd card

There have been two other posts in this camera's forum about this problem, you could've saved yourself a lot of trouble by reading through the other posts.
This camera only supports an SD card of 1GB maximum. The specifications on page 25 of the User's Manual state that only SD cards between 8MB and 1GB in size can be used in this camera. When I tried a larger-capacity 2GB SD card in this camera it reported that the card needed to be formatted even though the SD card worked fine in my desktop PC's SD card slot. Verify that the capacity of the SD card you're trying to use is 1GB or less.

Same as yours

The Z740 supports only MultiMediaCards & SD Memory Cards. 4GB and larger SD cards are usually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) types - and bear the SDHC mark on the label. These cards are not compatible with this camera. Use only MMC and SD cards. SD cards are 2 GB and under - although *some* 4 GB cards are marked as SD too; these cards may or may not work. If you purchase a 4 GB SD (not SDHC) card, make sure that it can be returned if it doesn't work reliably in your camera.
