Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
This error code indicates that you have an 'Ink system failure'. The problem is caused by air the ink feed tubes. If you either use all of the ink down to 0% or you use poorly refilled ink cartridges it can cause the printer to **** air into the feed tubes instead of ink. We have a step by step guide to purge the feed tubes of air on our site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/ There are 2 different versions of the procedure find the one for your type printer and follow the guide and within about 10 minutes you will be printing again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

It seems to be an issue with the print system. Many times it would lead to printer being serviced or replaced.
However you may try the below steps...

Its the ink System Failure. A. - Press and Hold the ?Print Photos? & ?Red Eye Removal? buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say ?Enter Special Key Combo? B. - Press and release in sequence ?Red Eye Removal?, ?Print Photos?, ?Red Eye Removal? Display should say ?Support? and display the FW rev XXXXX 1. Press and release the right arrow button (or the right arrow icon on touch screen displays) to look for the ?System Configuration Menu?? then press ?OK? 2. Press and release the right arrow until the ?Ink Initialization status? is displayed. 3. Press and release the ?OK? button. 4. Display should say ?Ink Initialization status: Clear. Press OK to set it?. 5. Press and release the ?OK? button ONCE. (This is very important; do not press the OK button for a second time). 6. Press the ?cancel button three times to leave the support menu. 7. Unplug the unit from the power supply and wait 10 seconds. 8. Plug in the unit. 9. Follow the on-screen instructions, the unit will initiate the initialization cycle. 10. When the unit finishes the initialization cycle the Host pens should have been converted to trade pens and you should be able to print. 11. If the unit is still showing the same message, then have the customer replace the cartridges indicated by the icons on the display with trade pens. If the customer does not have any trade pens handy, then send them only the colors indicated by the icons on the display. If the issue still persists, please service the product.
