My screen recently broke on my LG KE970, the phone however does still work so I could still get the contacts to be copied to my sim. I just need the instructions, like keyboard shortcuts that will take me right there as I cannot see what I am doing. It should be easy, as long as I have the short cuts. Could you tell me the short cuts?
I had the same thing happen to me, the shortcuts are as follows... press the button next to the scroller on the left (flat one) then press 6, then 5, then 2, if you want to keep the original numbers press 1 if u want to overwrite any numbers press 2. then press ok (the same flat button on the left to the scroller) that should copy the numbers to your sim! hope this helps! :)
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Step 1Remove the SIM card from your Motorola phone. The
SIM card is a small chip that is located under the battery in your cell
phone. After you've removed the SIM card from your Motorola phone,
remove the SIM card from your LG phone.
Step 2Insert the SIM card from your LG phone into your Motorola phone. Turn on the Motorola phone.
Step 3Press the "Menu" key and select the "Address Book" option.
Step 4Select "Options" by pressing the right soft key. The
"Select Multiple to" option will appear on the screen. Choose the
"Select Multiple To" option and then select "Copy to SIM to Phone."
Step 5Remove the SIM card that you placed in your Motorola
phone and insert it in your LG phone. After inserting the SIM card,
turn on your LG phone.
Step 6Click the "Menu" key on your LG phone and select the "Address Book" option.
Step 7Select "Options" and choose the "SIM Management" option.
Step 8Select the "Copy from SIM" option and choose "Select All."
Step 9Select the "Copy" option. Your contacts will be transferred from your SIM card to your LG phone.
You have not stated the Brand and the Model of your old phone.
anyway the basic procedure remains the same for every cell phone.
Transfer your all contacts in the old phone to your sim card.
Go to phone book/address book and then contacts.
On the drop down menu you will find 2 options i.e. Copy Sim to Phone and Copy Phone to Sim.
Click on Copy Phone to Sim.
All your contacts will be transferred to Sim.
Remove the sim from the old phone and insert it in the new LG phone.
Repeat the above steps. This time you have to select Copy Sim to Phone.
All your contacts will be stored in the new phone.
i know the steps to copying your contacts from handset to your sim but not have any screenshots.. just follow the below..i think it can solve ur problem .. i think u can remember the locations of menu in ur screen 1.click <communication> 2.select head shaped icon(contacts) 3.choose Settings. 4.Touch Copy. 5.Choose handset.to SIM 6 Choose Select all 7.touch copy
Red key (to make sure you're on the home screen) Left key (menu) 3 (Address book) 5 (Copy All Contacts) 2 (Handset to SmartChip) 1 to Keep original, 2 to Delete original (I'd keep it, just in case this doesn't work) (Beep) 1 (Yes to confirmation) Wait for another beep Done.
in your contact list, choose options and scroll through them until you see 'copy to phone' or something close. you can choose to delete or keep the contact on your SIM card too. then choose which contact you want to set the ID for.
I had the same issue. Assuming that the phone still works, you can copy all the numbers onto the SIM card. Then put the SIM card in a different phone and copy them back off again.
To do this hit this sequence of buttons: The Left next button(little dash in the top left corner) - pulls up menu #8 - goes to address book #5 - "copy all contacts" #2 - "handset to smartchip" #1 - "keep original" #1 - "yes"
Give it a minute or two to copy the numbers. Then power it down. The SIM card is underneath the battery.
I had the same problem! I just looked up in the manual and the shorcut is menu,8,7,3 to COPY all contacts or menu,8,7,4 to MOVE them (copy keeps the original contacts stored on the handset memory. Now because I can only view the botom right hand corner of my screen I can't be 100% sure what happened next. I pressed (enter/ok). Then could tell I needed to enter a 4 digit code as the layout changed so tried my pin and then 0000. I think 0000 worked and vaguely remeber it as a factory setting security code or summit. Hope it works for you too.
so again I think thats menu,8,7,3,ok,0000,ok......... then wait a few minutes while you imagine the bar scrolling along as the contacts a re copied (took about a minute and a half on mine so maybe wait 3 minutes just to be sure. switch off put ur sim in another phone and see if it worked
