I had this problem. It was small pieces of debris that got into the solution lines and clogged all the nozzles. There is a nozzle for the handheld attachments, one on the front of the machine for spraying spots and two nozzles underneath just behind the rotating brushes.

It was a royal pain disconnecting the clear rubber hoses inside the machine and blowing out the nozzles and the hoses with compressed air. If you are mechanically challenged I'd suggest you take the machine to a vacuum/steam cleaner repair facility.

I'm not sure how the debris got into the solution system, but it may have been when the dirty water tank was emptied some of the dirty water entered the internal, clean water bladder.

A note to Bissell engineers: This issue can be prevented if you simply add an easily accessable solution and/or water filter that the customers can remove, clean and reinstall. Just a suggestion.

I just had the same problem... my hand held was working but not the floor cleaning part of my machine. The two red sprayers on the front were clogged... EASY!!! I thought it was gonna be the motor or something exspensive... So I got a pair of vice grips and a screwdiver took the sprayers off got a needle from my sewing stuff and put it through the heads on the sprayers and sure enough it was filled with white stuff... which I am assuming it was calcium deposits... cleaned them out and put back together.... works good as new again :)

The sprayer nozzles could be clogged with some foreign obstruction and may need to be pulled out and cleaned. You could also have a kink in a hose within the motor/pump compartment area that needs to be released or air blockage. You can unscrew the top from the base (unplugged of course) approx. six phillips screws and see if there is a kink in a line and you can still start the unit /power up and view water in lines going to nozzles in /under the unit.

Pumps are a very common problem on these units. check pump belt first and make sure spray jets above the brushroll are not clogged. Most likely have to replace the pump. If you need me to walk you through this or need parts let me know.

My bissell carpet shampooer won't spray out water

The tubes inside the machine are probably clogged. Dismantle top hood and disconnect the three lines at the pump, open up entire top housing and inspect heater. Disconnect two tubes and heater and blow out with air compressor. That will spray all the junk, soap that has built up and your machine will be good as new. If you can't do this yourself, contact bissell and ask where your local repair center is

Bissell Proheat Pro-Tech #7901 will not spray any liquid to the carpet and red cross indicator is not turning, but comes out of attactments

The 7920 is a 220 volt version of the 7901. I found a shop in New Zealand of all places that has service manuals on line. They are sort of picture books, but using them has saved me a lot of money as it makes repairing much easier. Here's the link you'll need. Good luck. If you need any more help, just add a comment to your post and it will go to my e-mail and let me know. The heads you clean are just the outlet spray heads when they get gunky.
