Lexmark 7600 printer cover is not seating properly after installing printer cartridge

The two hinges are attached to the back of the printer by two screws. I removed the two screws and lifted the top off, freeing the two hinges (the one on the right was broken so part of it stayed in the printer). There is a restraining line on the right side that keeps the top from coming completely free of the printer, but it can be worked around while still attached. I removed the broken pieces and the internal spring from the right side hing. The spring is what was keeping the top from seating correctly. I assume you could order a new hing, but I reassembled the printer without the spring and the top seated properly. The printer works, but I will now need to be very careful when replacing the ink cartridges because of the missing hing on the right side.

Left and righ hinge is broken on my HP officejet 6210, where can I find

I "inherited" a 6210xi because BOTH hinges were broken... poor and weak plastic design that breaks if the operator tries to raise the access past about 40 degrees for access to ink cartridges... of course after the hinges break it doesn't close properly to start again (except with creative taping!). In my pursuit of these parts I found that the lower hinge part (broken) Part#JB6100289A is actually a Samsung part for their SCX-15 printer/scanner. It was also interesting to find several of these 6210xi's for sale on eBay and other places for $10 or less as "broken, parts only" and AMAZINGLY, it was the same broken hinge part that put all of these out of service. Found the HP Part number as RG5-6317-0000N but couldn't find anything except to buy either the Top half of a whole 6210 or the Bottom half for hundreds of $$'s, far more than the WHOLE new working item would be. listed the part as "non-stocking" at $2.27 each, available Aug 8, 08, but it turned out to be that they are negotiating for access to that parts and VIOLA! a few months later I received SIX hinges at $2.27 each plus shipping. You have to be creative to keep your old stuff working.

Where the heck is the ink cartridge

If you will notice where the paper comes out of the printer, that whole top portion including the keyboard area tilts up and back, it is hinged. Once it is up you will be able to see the ribbon cable attached to the print head and the print head has the ink cartridges on it. With the printer off the printhead should be on the far left. Put your fingers on the cartridges and slide the printhead to the middle so that it is right in front of you and you can get to it. The ink cartridges just lift up and back off the print head. Replace the new one close the lid and power it on and you will be up and running again. God bless.

Access door will not closwe.

I have the same problem and found it's a broken right back hinge. The plastic that holds the pin in place is broken and the spring underneath is preventing the access door from closing properly. Unfortunately, I had to take it apart to see it. If hp (or any other computer company) stocked these cheap parts, they couldn't make money selling disposable computer products...sad but true. I'll be looking for a cheap 3310 for replacement parts for mine...

Broken hinge

Take the scanner lid off by squeezing the plastic hinges inserted into the back of the cabinet.
Take the top hinge of the cartridge door off with the 2 tork screws holding it, using a small screw driver.
Go to a hardware store & pick up a pair of cabinet hinges no more than 2". (You need to buy a pair because they do not come separate)
Place the new cabinet hinge on the back to the right of the bottom hinge of the base cabinet. Mark holes, drill one top, in the door, & 1 bottom cabinet, pilot holes. Check alignment & insert screws.
Tighten the bottom screws. Leave a little slack in the top screws as they have to be a little off set to close completely. You will only need to open this Cartridge door to change cartriges, so, no sweat.
My cost was under $5 for a pair of brass hinges, & my time, about an hour, taking my time.
It's too bad HP won't supply their offset hinges. They are inexpensive & easy to replace.
I've had my unit for exactly 4 years now, so this fix is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Besides, I have ink already purchased that does not fit new printers.....go figure....

HP+ officejet 7310

try pushing on the hinges one at a time, a downward motion will help. I am assuming you mean the access to the ink cartridge area.

The color ink in my hp deskjet 920c won't work

try cleaning the contacts (bronze like) with dry cloth both the cartridge and the cartridge holder most of the times there exist some liquid forms on both areas. since you frequently remove the cartridges; their might be a broken part on the cartridge holder. the broken part, use, is to make sure the cartridge is in absolute contact with the cartridge holder's. the size the said broken part is 2 mm in all sides. so small that it has a big dnt even recognize.
