Does it have a heating element

Yes, as with all dryers, this unit has a heating element. This site: has a diagram of the dryer including the pair of heating elements. See part 3 in this Dryer Base diagram.

I hope this helps.

My kenmore elec. dryer 67042 model wont get hot...I never recd a manual..need diagram to dis assemble and examine the unit! Can u help me find a diagram?

Make sure the unit is not plugged in when testing these fuses. You should also check the continuity on the heating element if all fuses check out as good. You may also need to check the main power at the terminal block and make sure you have 220 volts to the terminal block. These are all located on the rear of the dryer remove the back panel to get to them.

This is the most common locations for thermal fuses and heating element on Whirlpool,Kenmore,Estate dryers. Check these fuses for continuity and replace the one that does not have continuityseth765.jpgseth765_0.jpg

My dryer no longer heats

Small Diagnostics: is the gas line open, does the dryer still operate (tumble) but it does not heat, does the exhaust blow air out if so then the gas delivery, motor, vacuum motor are possibly working properly.

Issues might then be in the ducting or the heating unit, this is the schematic of the gas line, heating, and ducting within the core of the dryer: If you take a close look at number 16 which can be seen inside the tumbler, Sometimes the port/ matrix of small air vent can clog up due to lint. Make sure that vent is not blocked. This prevent hot air from coming into tumbler.

When a unit over heats or fails it could be related to the high limit thermostat which is a sensor that get tripped or blows when it reached its limit check and see if its fried/ burnt (number 17).

Diagram number 2:

This one contains or blown out thermostat fuses check and see if they are OK on diagram 2, Part number 8 Tstat and 10 thermal fuse.

Hopefully this help.

Sears Kenmore dryer model number 96310100 runs but not heating. How do you check the thermostat??

Click on the below link to see the diagram where the thermostat is located.

Part number 8 is the thermostat on the diagram. If the unit is not getting hot, you can use an Ohm Meter to check for continuity. If the thermostat reads open or no connection, the unit is bad. If you do not have an Ohm Meter you can temporarily tape the connection on one of the thermostats leads to the other to see if it starts to warm up. I would suggest you use electrical tape and perform this operation with the unit unplugged then plug the unit back in order to test it. Do not run the dryer for more than a few minutes, or you may have to call the fire department. If it warms up after a few minutes the thermostat is defective and needs to be replaced.

Low heat with matag dryer

I have been to the Maytag website and I could only find the installation instructions. Sometimes the wiring diagram will be located in an envelope on the unit. If the dryer isn't getting hot enough and you are sure that there is nothing empeding the airflow, then the thermostat is the only thing that can be wrong. These units are typically pretty simple.
