This problem is likely a failure of the LCD display on the circuit board. I examined ours and it shows a burned spot inside the display unit. With our oven the display becomes visible after the oven has been on for some time. The board is simple to replace.

Help with Calibrating Electric Oven Temps with digital controls?

The thermostat is mechanical using pressure from a waxstat style sender and is not adjustable.
I expect you are measuring with your probe in a different place to the sender unit; hence the differences.

We clean are double wall oven and I can,t reset the clock.

Hi williamk77,

Your post "reset the clock" may refer to three (3) clocks in your Dacor ECS230. The first is the "Setting the Time of Day" which could be performed by pressing on the "CLOCK" touchpad. The time of day will falsh. "AM" or "PM" will be displayed and "TIME" will flash in the display. Thereafter, press the touchpad "+" or "-" until the correct time of the day is displayed and release touchpad.

The second is the "Using the Minute Timer" which is better explained at the user's manual page 6. Below is a snapshot of that part of that page.09d8cbe.jpg

and the third is "Timed/Delayed Timed Cooking" likewise better explained at the user's manual (p.9). Should the manual be not readily available, it may be downloaded from here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Jenn-Air JJW8527 oven display has been progressively getting dimmer and now it will not display any settings. The oven still responds to controls and bakes, but it is difficult to know if you set it right...

The problem is likely bad capacitors on the clock module. I had the same problem on a similar oven and fixed it by replacing the capacitors on the clock module. Find someone who is good with electronics to help you. The parts will be a few dollars at most. Give them a tip too. See this link for more info: http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7902

Oven will not achieve setpoint temperature.

You may not need anything. Most people test their oven with a dial type oven thermometer. They are slow to react and often not very accurate. When I test an oven or install a new thermostat, I use a digital thermometer with a remote temperature probe, hanging from the center of the oven, which shows the temp in tenths of a degree. I let the oven cycle on and off at least three times, then take the high and lower readings on the next cycle and average that out to see what the actual oven temp is. Most of the time, if there is a dial type thermometer in the oven it is very slow to react. After 3 to 5 cycles, they often show close to what the actual oven temp is, but the only way to know for sure is to use the more accurate digital thermometer. Most ranges with digital displays can be adjusted + or - about 35 degrees. Check your users manual for this info, but don't mess with it until you have checked the oven with a digital thermometer! Please don't bother rating this solution, as anything but a Fix-Ya drops my score. Thanks.

Hotpoint BU62 display works but nothing else does.

If the display is flashing auto, then you need to reset it to manual, otherwise oven will not work,
The grill should still work regardless..If you have your handbook, refer to (What if something goes wrong).
If no hand book, type in HOTPOINT USER MANUALS in your browser bar, and follow the links.
