I don't think you'll find a driver for this camera. But if you invest $10 or so, you can get a USB card reader. Take the card out of the camera, insert it into the card reader, and Windows 7 will 'see' the card as another drive on the computer. You'll be able to view all the pictures on the card and move/copy them to the hard drive on your computer if you want.

I have a new Dell Inspiron with Windows 7. No matter what I try I can't load/download a driver for Canon Ixus 300. I have the CD, but it is not compatible with Windows7.

Your CD is for an older version of Windows and the installers/drivers have changed over time. The driver you need is part of the Windows 7 OS so you should be able to just connect the camera to the computer using the appropriate USB cable.

The software update for the ZoomBrowser EX is available here: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000484.asp if you need. Use the drop-down menu to select Windows 7. Download and save the file. Then launch the updater (double-click) and insert your CD in the optical drive of the computer. Then follow the on-screen directions to install the ZoomBrowser EX version for Win7.

You can import from the camera with Paint (File > Import from Camera or Scanner) and PhotoGallery (if you have the Windows Live package installed)

I hope this helps.

I recently got new computer with Windows 7 Professional. My Canon PowerShot SD790 IS will not connect to computer. I have removed all the Canon files and reinstalled the Digital Camera Solution Disk 33.0...

You are going to have to download a Windows 7 driver from Canon that will allow them to communicate.
Go to this page here (click here) and under the Drivers and Software, where it says "Choose your operating system", select Windows 7.

Check to make sure that you have the correct driver on your computer. If not, go to the Canon site and upload. That should solve your problem.

Where is cover to open to connect to computer

The cover is a press-fit plastic piece on the right side of the camera (looking at the camera from the front). I think the cable to connect the camera to a computer is proprietary -- Canon made a cable especially for this and a few other models. So if you don't have the cable that came with the camera, you may not be able to find one. Also, if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, there is no driver software for this model.

It would be much easier to invest in a USB card reader that can read CF cards ($10 - $15 or less). Just take the card out of the camera and plug it into the reader. Your computer will see this as another driver on the computer.
