There might be dust blocking the heat vents. Use compressed air can to blow out the dust. During summer, dont not use the laptop without a properly cooling system. The motherboard is programmed to cut off power if the heat reaches a particular threshold, to prevent component damage.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

Jesus Christ. It's a P3, so odd are the thermal compound is no longer functioning as it should. Either disassemble the PC and apply new paste, or buy a new damned computer.

One thing you can try is to go to a local computer store or electronics store and buy some canned air. Then use it to blow out the vents on the side and bottom of the laptop. This will remove any debris or dust blocking the exhuast vents, which will let the laptop cool down better.

I have a slim ps3. When i'm playing for 2 hours or less it just suddenly shuts down... No lights come, Nothing! Have to plug it out then back in to get it going, Any ideas??

hi, make sure the cooling fan is working, if it doesn't the console shuts down itself to preotect the system, you can get your ear really close to the fan and listen to see if it makes any noise, check it often because sometimes it doesn't kick on till the console is getting hot, if you can't hear the fan running it could be your problem.....

Vaio shuts down suddenly, not due to battery

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.

Laptop shuts down

if it just shuts down suddenly without logging off and doing a normal windows shutdown, you probably have heat issues to to dust clogging your heatsink. Using an air compressor at 80 lbs (canned air won't have enough pressure), blast air into the opening/grille where hot air is exhausted from the laptop. this will likely shoot a cloud of dust out of the bottom of the laptop. Shoot air into the fan intake on the bottom of the laptop next. If the laptop still shuts down suddenly, check that the fan is actually working (feel hot air blowing?) - maybe the fan is dead.

hope this helps! Let me know.

Sudden shut down

You need to clean it out with some compressed air.

Make sure the laptop is turned off of course.

If you still have heating issues, then you'll need to take it apart and put a new layer of thermal paste on the heat sink / cpu.

Best of luck!

My laptop becomes too hot & it shut downs suddenly when I use any big applications like turbo c or playing any game or when I try to write any cd through it. After few minutes its fan starts spinning very...

Sounds like you have a hardware fan & vent, the CPU shuts down when it gets too hot.
Check the fan, it should spin freely, clean the dust off the fan and heatsink assembly. Replace the fan if necessary.
When you use the laptop, make sure none of the vents are covered.

My laptop is shutting down after less than 45 minutes usage. It seems it might be getting too hot

Try working on your laptop when you are in a much cooler environment than the usual. the possible reason for your laptop shutting down could be either the processor is getting to hot due to which the cooling unit of the system i not able to cool it down & keep the system temperature under control. I would also like to know the model of the system that you are using at the same time would also like to know the approximate age of the computer that you have been using. I possible which brand is your system & whats the Os its running on... thanks & regards
