Paper not printing on correct side

When printing it shoots the paper out with nothing printed then takes it back in and reverses the print to the wrong side. Can I reset to original manufacturer setting?

Yes. I am printing documents from my computer. I can see the paper come out, but then it takes it back in, prints, then spits it out.

Are you printing documents from a computer? Or are you making copies? If copying, are you using the automatic document feeder (paper should be fed in face up) or are you placing the original directly on the glass platen?

My Star TSP600 Thermal Printer is displaying a flashing Error light. Power light on, new roll of paper loaded correctly, self-test was ineffective - nothing printed. What's my next step?

i know you stated you put the paper in correctlyin the printer but if the thermal reactive side of the paper is not facing the print head the thermal paper won't print on the wrong side of the paper. it will load into the printer and seem ok but the heat on the wrong side of the paper will not react and show any writing. Can you try turning the paper over in the printer feed holder so the other side of the paper faces the print head and give it another test .

Hi Robyn
PRINTING ON REVERSE SIDE OF PHOTO PAPER

The only realistic choice here is for you to chalk this episode down to experience, buy some new photo paper of the correct type to produce your preferred outcome and then do another print run of the postcards.

I always advise, when printing on exotic papers and even when producing ink intensive printing on ordinary paper, to print a single test copy first and then study the result, rather than completing the entire print run in one go.

Because of the lack of absorbency on the reverse side of the paper you used, I would also recommend temporarily putting the printer settings back to regular paper and printing a test page, so the micro-nozzles on the print head are cleared of any excess ink. If the test page is not perfect, then also run your printer's Print Head Cleaning maintenance tool. Then reset the printer back to photo printing for another run at your postcards.

Good luck.

I hope this helps.

Will not print a test page also unable to find or adjust spool settings and cannot change Priority settings. Some things will print but many items will not, even then it seems very slow.

Printer will not print anything but it does keep printing plain sheets continuously until machine is shut off. Why

looks like a mechanical issue. the printer head is suppose to move across the paper during printing from side to side. failure to do so will mean nothing will print. get it to a technician since this is nothing that can be corrected without a technicians taking a physical look at it.
good luck

Paper is jamming when I print something

Were you able to remove all of the original jammed business cards? where the leading edge of the "Fanfold" prints occurs, you will probably find something blocking the paper path. HP printers usually have a limit on the paper weight that the printer can handle when doing duplex (2 sided) printing. Check this against the weight of the cards you are printing.

Printer prints a black streak down the reverse side

You have a build up of ink inside the printer. I had a Canon that did this. I had to take the ink & print head out, and tear a paper towel strip 1 " wide and 13" long or however long the paper towel is. I folded it in half down the length so it was 1/2x13. Then used a plastic strip to shove it under the part the print head sits in. Once I got the towel to the other side, I grabbed it with my hand. I removed the plastic strip used to shove the paper towel under. So now the paper towel sticks out both sides underneath the print head cradle. I gently pull the paper towel back and forth so the paper towel can clean off the ink build up. Hope this helps.

I have a Canon mx310 printer. I have read the book but can't find out if I can print on both sides of a piece of paper. If it can be done can you explain how Regards Ted gray

I just read the data on your model and it says nothing about two sided printing.
You can still print two sides of the paper with any printer. Save page 1 and page two sweperately. Either place one piece of paper into your printer or if it feeds for the front of the pile ,Just have it print side on. After that is done the the printed paper and place it back into the the front of the paper tray so that it will be the next one printed, then print side two . A slow poocess but sometimes worth it. (You may have to turn the paper around and or backwards for it to print on the correct side in the directing you desire, experiment).

Your application will actually override the settings of the printer, what i can suggest is for you to check if you are using the correct page length and margin setting in your software program.

Try using Laserjet 3 emulation driver as well
