Even though my black cartridge is full, my black and white documents are so light they are unreadable. My color cartridges are close to being empty. Can this be the cause?

printers use all cartridges to get the correct colour even black
best get a new colour cartridge then realign the printer with a test pattern

I70 Canon photo printer will not print after changing print cartridge.

Check the black cartridge and make sure the orange or yellow tape at the rear end is not still attached. If it covers the small hole on the top of the cartridge, the printer won't print black text.

Missing lines of print

hello
You either have to change the ink cartridge or try to clean the ink cartridge nozzles as described in the user manual;
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/om_en/om_en.pdf
On page 54 it states the following:

To clean the ink cartridge nozzles:
1 Load plain paper. For more information, see "Loading Paper" on page 19.
2 In Windows XP, click Start-Control Panel-Printers and Other Hardware-Printers and
Faxes.
In Windows 2000, click Start-Settings-Printers.
3 Right-click the Dell Photo AIO Printer 924 icon.
4 Click Printing Preferences.
The Printing Preferences dialog box opens.
5 Click the Maintenance tab.
6 Click Clean Print Cartridges.
7 If the print quality has not improved, click Print Again.
8 Print your document again to verify the improved print quality.
9 If you are not satisfied with the print quality, wipe the ink cartridge nozzles, and then print
your document again.

hope this helps.

Ran out of ink, changed the ink and the printer prints a blank paper...checked the ink everything is good...still nothing printing??

Make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges.
Try to re-seat the cartridges into the printer. Remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > unplug / re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it > when the printer turns on, firmly reinsert the cartridges. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, try to clean the print cartridge nozzles. Open the Lexmark Solution Center on your computer by going to Start menu > Programs / All Programs > Lexmark Z600 Series > Maintenance tab > Under Select a Maintenace tool, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. > click Print. Then try to print a document again.

The PGBK cartridge doesn't print anything

Do a selftest on the printer. If the Selftest prints out something, uninstall the printer Driver and reinstall it again. If it still did not work checkin the printer to a qualified technican to have a look at it.

I have a Canon MX850, I don't understand why my big black ink cartridge is full and it uses only the small one, how can I change to use the big one?

The printer use big PGI-5bk cartridge to print documents and text. When you print photos or some other pictures printer use small CLI-8bk cartridge because this cartridge has a photo ink.If you print text and it print blank page that mean the nozzle on PGI-5 cartridge is clogged.Try cleaning test on maintenance menu on printer.

Not printing...printer says remove or change ribbon

First you want to clean both the cartridges and the cartridge seats inside of the printer with warm water and a soft cloth (I use old t-shirts). After you've done that place the cartridges back into the printer and clean the printheads. You can do this by following the steps on page 83 of your user manual:

1) Load the paper
2) Press "Copy"
3) Press Options until Maintenance appears on the display.
4) Press the right arrow until Clean Cartridges appears on the
display.
5) Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the
nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.
6) Print your document again to verify that your print quality has
improved.

You can also find information on cleaning the cartridges on pages 83 and 84 of your manual. If you don't have one available, you can download one at:

http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/x6100/eng/ug.pdf

I hope this helps!
