Same tv, exact same problem... Mine was 1 month out of warranty... dell refused to repair it... will never buy a dell product again. Have to use my stereo system with television.

Same problem - no sound. I was on the phone with Dell for an eternity! I was told that they are no longer making TVs. Very frustrating to spend that much on a TV and have it break after only 2 years.

My W3201C 32" Dell LCD TV also has the loud static sound in the speakers, just started this weekend and the TV is less than 2 years old. I searched Google to find an answer and it directed me here. Has anyone been given a solution as I didn't buy an extended warranty because of the past where TV's lasted for decades!! I also searched the Dell Forum for answers I've added a response to someone with the same problem that occurred recently and the TV is the same age. I'll likely be seeking a local repair shop to fix the problem if I don't get a resolution.

Update to my problem dated mar 25

Repair man told me the sound board is defective and after searching all over..he was also in contact with Dell people there are no sound board nor parts for that sound board available.

I had the *luck* of buying me tv through Master Card which offers the free extended warranty.for 12 month. They confirmed I was entitled to be reimburse for the purchase price or the value of the next tv I buy.

I just bought a Sony Bravia and returned the Dell tv to the insurance company...waiting for the refund.

Same issue with my tv, must be that damn egg timer inside the tv that goes off after warranty. I can't believe how many ppl have the same problem. maybe dell should put an expiration date on their products.

Same issue... 2 years old...sound out.. I called customer service and was basically told tuff s***.. I sent an E-mail to MD... customer service called me... I was transferred to "out of warranty" dept. They told me that it could not be repaired. Their solution was that I send in the faulty TV and they would replace it with a "repaired " unit for only $1,100....I dropped my phone...unbelievable....never again...

Guess I am not the only one with this problem. Seems to be something Dell planned for us consumers to by another tv from them.... NOT!

No sound on dell plasma television just squeaking noise

I have same problem, started with one speaker, then other, clicking, popping, static, and then nothing on one, and then the other. It is not the speakers, it is the audio amp board in most cases, but to stop noise, just unplug those speakers if you are using others through your audio outputs to amplified speakers. I have been doing this for weeks, and it works, but having replaced audi amp board once before, the replacement board only worked for a couple weeks, and it cost me $50.00 for a used one, so I would not advise that route unless you can find a new board.

Good luck

I have a PSW-D112 that has little use, i just hooked it up 2 days ago and was working great and I shut it off by the switch on the back of the unit now today I went to turn it on and it made a buzzing...

What happens if you disconnect only the source end of the RCA's? Atmospheric noise can enter through the cables if their shields are grounded well.

Google: "speakers buzzing"

I have been experiencing static noise/crackling from my front left and right speakers just recently. (I have a 5.1 dell system - the front center - attached to the monitor and rear speakers do not emit...

This seems like at cables have gone bad or either the connections in the speakers went bad. Its best to replace them unless you know how to disassemble and re-soder the connections.

One of my speakers stopped working today , the one with the yellow prong . when I plug in the black prong it works in both ports playing the speaker that is not broken . I purchased these new 2 weeks ago ....

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems

hope this helps

I have a Dell TV 32 In.LCD W3201\r\

I had the same problem with my dell tv. It's the exact same one you have. It kept making noise at first, and then the sound just went out. I changed the speaker wires to a slightly stronger, thicker wire and now it works great!! I hope this works for you.

Static noise coming out of speakers

What sort of computer do you have? Is it a laptop or desktop? Many laptops have this problem and it is quite widespread in laptops. The crackling or humming noise could be a result of interference from the mains power signal.

If it's a laptop, try running it on battery alone (take out the mains power cord). My laptop has this kind of noise in speakers when running on mains electrical supply, but it goes away like magic when I run it on battery.

A more long-term solution is to buy a 'Ground Loop Isolator' and insert it between your computer and the speakers/earphones. They are quite cheap and you could get it for under £10. It removes all static noise and you'll hear crystal clear sound.
