Hello
Possible bad Monitor video cable.Or video device is bad.

Try unpluging the pc completly from the wall for 5 min then plug back in and restart.

Also check that connections are solid and tight on monitor video cable.

I am getting no singal

Please try it on another PC first, if it still does not work, then you will have to open it up if you are going to DIY repair (Please note that BenQ makes monitors for Dell and HP, so look at the Dell and HP albums)

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Just got a hand me down Benq model t903 19

Quite the opposite -- your new monitor can't handle the screen settings that you're running on the old monitor.

Hook up the old monitor and start up the computer so you're looking at a Windows desktop. If you have windows open, close them or minimize them down to the taskbar so you can see the desktop/background image.

Right-click on the background image and select "Properties" to bring up the Display Properties dialog.

There are tabs across the top of this dialog -- select the one named "Settings"

In the bottom half of the Settings tab, there's a control named "Screen Resolution" with a slider to move between "less" and "more"

Move this slider to 1280x1024 or lower. If you're already at a resolution smaller than 1280x1024, then set it to 800x600 and we'll troubleshoot from there.

Hit "OK" to accept the new settings. Windows will ask if the new settings are OK -- click on "yes"

Now unplug your old monitor and plug in the Benq.

If you are happy with this screen resolution, then you're done!

If you're looking at 800x600 and want to see more, then repeat this process -- go to the Display Properties -> Settings dialog and try a bigger resolution. Hit "Apply" instead of "OK" to try a new setting.

If the screen says "OUT OF RANGE" for a setting, just wait for 15 seconds, and windows will revert to the old (working) settings.

Let me know how this works! If it's helpful, click the little thumbs-up. If it's not, ask questions and I'll try to explain in more detail
