Hello,

It sounds like the cooling fan under the top and behind the controls is at fault.Either the fan has burnt out or the safety cut in Thermostat has failed or both. The fan would cost € 45 Euros in Ireland. The part number is 3117704001.

Hope this helps

Hi, I have 90 AJC 06 GC. AEG single oven. At thhe moment when the oven is turned off the cooldown fan will not turn off so I have to turn it of at the main fuse box. Also sometimes the oven turns itself...

The oven cooldown fan will sometimes run for 10 to 15 minutes after turning the oven off. This enables the outer shell of the oven to cool down. Most ovens also have an inbuilt thermal overload in the outer shell. If the temperature in the outer shell gets too hot it will open circuit the oven power until it cools down a bit.

The fan copntinues to run after oven is turned off

Most electric ovens have 2 fans. One is a fan forced fan at the back of the oven cavity that you can generally see spinning when the oven/fan forced option is selected. The other is a cavity fan which is situated between the outer skin of the oven and the oven itself. There are generally located at the top of the oven. Because the oven is a wall oven that sits in a tight cavity it cannot cool down easily. The job of the cavity fan is to cool this cavity down by blowing the hot air in the cavity out a small hole, normally in the front of the oven. When you turn the oven off this fan might operate for 5 to 10 minutes until the oven cavity cools sufficiently. If there was no cavity fan the oven and/or cupboard would overheat.

Baumatic B180ss Electric oven problem

It sounds like the overheat safety stat is cutting the oven off.
This is prevent the oven overheating and catching fire.
They can go faulty and operate prematurely, causing the prob u are experiencing.
If it is built in , make sure it has adequate ventilation, as this can cause the prob.
Also check to see if it has an external cooling fan fitted, these can fail, and again cause the prob.
They are usually fitted under the top cover of the oven, and designed to keep the oven cool.
It should come on shortly after turning the oven on
These things are the most likely cause of the prob.
plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Won't turn off

Sounds like maybe a wire burned off of an element terminal and shorted to ground. This would bypass the thermostat, so to speak, and continue to heat at 1/4 wattage. The only way to control this failure would be to turn off the power to the oven, but it won't reset until the burned wire is repaired.

Oven heats up then switches off

there is an overheat stat in the oven which turns it off if overheating. the causes are several. 1 - oven thermostat is faulty and oven is reachingf too high a temp. 2 - there is a second fan in the casing to keep the casing cool. 3 - this second fan is turned on by a fan start stat which may be faulty and is not starting the cooling fan 4 - the overheat stat itself is faulty. it is a bit difficult to narrow it down from afar. get back to me if you want
