Sounds like you have a small piece of paper or something blocking the rollers to roll evenly. check this thoroughly.

PAPER JAM

When the paper goes it on the inside of the printer grabs both side which what feeds it through, if it is not tight enough will cause paper jams, open it back up and check the roller to see if it can be adjusted if it cant then you will need to buy a new one, this usualy happens when it has had too many paper jams forcing the gap to increase in size and not allow the collection of one but many, on single sheets of paper the gap wont be small enough to collect 1 sheet anymore.

When I print, the paper gets jammed. The paper is grabbed on one side and goes in unevenly thus causing the jam.

Hello!
We must feed curved paper to our printer. To avoid paper jam let the paper be straight and dry... thanks

As paper goes in the printer it feeds it in side ways causing

you issue is clear to me that you got some rollers in your feeder that are jammed up or just not feeding the paper correctly.

The fix:

You need to buy a new autofeeder for this printer. You can leave auto out of my volcabulary if you just want to call it a feeder. the issue is over time and use these feeders get worn out or get jammed so many times they just sop working.

Now a new feeder $45 bucks now you need to think will this cost me more then just buying a new printer. Chacnes are yes just a tad under with labor. I am not saying "buy a new printer" I am opening the door to the idea if you just do not want to put up with fixing this.

Thanks and please do be considerate and leave your positive ratings and feedback.

Paper jam

The way you describe your error, it seems that there is still some residual paper stuck inside the printer that may cause subsequent paper to be mis-aligned.

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

Feed 1 paper at a tym

try freeing up the paper before you insert it into the printer. an easy way to do this so to "fan" the paper by holding one end and letting each paper on the other end be released one by one.
another thing is that you may be inserting the paper too much inside the paper tray. try inserting the paper slowly and stop at the first slightest notch you feel

Printer Feeder not working well. Paper always gets stuck.

Recurring paper jams can be caused by broken parts, using too much paper in the in-tray, or parts (usually the rear door) not on all the way. This video explains how to fix a paper or carriage jam, but explains along the way the things to watch for. If you go through the steps in this video and you still get paper jammed, you may have a broken printer that needs to be replaced or repaired.

Alignment error after replacing black ink. Lexmark X5495

I found a pencil inside my printer and took it out. It was not easy but now it does not jams the paper. Disconnect the power cord and softly shake the printer from side to side making sure you are holding on to the top scanner door so it won't flip open and listen for anything rolling or loose inside. It just might be your problem.

I have a HP OFficjet 7210 All-in-one that keeps jamming.

Clean the pickup rollers and ensure that there isn't a small peice of paper lodged between them. I use a product called "rubber renew", it removes the dust, dirt, etc. and eats away someof the rubber to make it rough again.

Different kind of paper jam....

Hello I have an x6170 when I go to print the paper is going in side ways, crumbling the paper. I did not do anything different from before. I tried taking it apart but I do not see any screws or if it is just snap in I would like to see the assembly manual so I can open it...maybe fixing it.
Please HELP
