It probably needs the carburetor adjusted, at minimum, which, if it can't be done with a small flat bladed screwdriver, probably needs the special adjustment tool to do so. How new is the saw?

Check the fuel filter for plugging as well as the air cleaner and muffler. Make sure the choke control actually opens the butterfly plate in the carburetor when the choke is pushed off. Check the quality of the spark at the plug by laying the removed plug on engine metal (wire on plug) and pull through. The spark should be blue and snappy. Plug gap is 0.020". The insulator should be medium to light tan when the engine runs correctly. If still having problems, check the lower chamber diaphragm in the carburetor for being hard or cracked as it directly controls fuel flow through the carburetor. Hope this helps!

Hello i have a rancher 455e with no spark at times runs a short time boggs down and dies then no start or spark ????

No spark could be a number of issues. Break in ignition wire, faulty switch, incorrect timing space, faulty ignition module, bad sparkplug or the spark plug lead.
The running problem is most likely a fueling issue, check the fuel lines, filter and make sure fuel is getting into the cylinder.

One year old weed eater -- wont crank

There may be a few reasons it doesn't crank. First and foremost, you need fresh fuel in it, not the fuel that you used last season. Discard that fuel. You need the air filter to be clean. We can try and coerce it into running. Remove the air filter that is mounted on the carburetor. Open the choke lever. Squeeze the throttle trigger all the way. While you have the trigger squeezed, shoot a couple of shots of aerosol type carburetor/choke cleaner spray through the throat of the carburetor and into the engine. You can find this product at all auto parts stores and even WalMart. Spray the cleaner, then turn on the choke and immediately try to start it. If the machine "pops" like it wants to run or maybe runs for a few seconds, then that is great. We are on the right track. Do this a few times and soon, the carburetor will pick up the fuel in the tank (make sure to use the purge bulb), and possibly begin to run on its own. Before you do ANY of these things however, please remove and clean or replace your spark plug. Post back with results. We like to help.

Can not start the ms180 chain saw, tried new plug, new gas, starting fluid etc. suggestions ran this morning, and now will not start. only been used twice

Remove the plug and then plug into plug wire. With the spark plug laying on top of engine pull the recoil a couple times and you should see spark at the plug. If all is good and there is the proper mixture of gas/oil ratio in saw then >>With trigger depressed fully and choke on, pull until it fires and then shove the choke in. /////If no spark and the saw is new, I would return to retailer.

I have a 262 pro chainsaw and I used it all day and stopped for a couple hours and now wont start or even try too...I changed the plug and pulled it a couple of times with out the plug....It's got spark...

Pour a little fuel mix in the plug hole and try for start--if pops several times, you have a fuel delivery problem. Check for a plugged fuel filter, air filter, and muffler. Check the condition of the fuel lines, particularly the line ends. Make sure the carburetor fasteners are tight. Does the primer bulb fill with fuel when pumped? Hope this helps!

Dear Experts, I need assistance from you ppl.I stay in India. I bought a medium quality glue gun and a glue stick. I plugged the gun to the power socket(220v)and waited for the glue to come out of the...

It takes a couple of minutes for the gun to heat up. When you first plug it in, touch the metal nozzle with your hand. It should become obviously hot within 15 seconds and too hot to touch within a minute . After it fully heats up (a couple of minutes), squeezing the trigger should advance the glue stick and push molten glue out of the nozzle. However, there is often an initial resistance to the trigger and you may have to squeeze a bit hard to get it started. If there is a problem with the trigger mechanism, you can also advance the glue by pushing directly on the back end of the glue stick with your thumb. Good luck.

Wont start what is spark plug gap whatelse bulb full, new, gas in it,lines hooked

These are bad about flooding with the least amount of trying to. I usually can get mine started by letting it sit for 5-10 min. push the bulb 3-4 times hold the trigger and push the choke on full with 3/4 speed set. Pull 1x. Don't worry usually it won't start on this setting, it really just helps get the choke and carb set. Put choke back 1/2 way and try to start, if so, gas the trigger a couple of times but not holding in down. If it don't start put the choke on full again and try to start without holding the trigger. It should start after this. Take the plug out replace the coil wire onto plug and pull the cord gently to see if you're getting spark at the plug. Holding the coil boot to prevent it giving a small jolt.

Won't start

I have the same model chainsaw, and sometimes it's very difficult to start. If you pull the plug and it's wet, with the plug still out pull the starter rope about ten times to clear out the excess gas. Dry the plug and put it back in and try to start it with the choke off. If it fires up, be ready to put the choke on if it starts. I forgot to mention that before starting you should pull in the trigger, push down the button on top of the handle, and hold it down while releasing the trigger. This sets the trigger so that it is on slightly. If it doesn't start, pull in the trigger and give it a few pulls that way. If it doesn't start, pull the plug again and see if it is wet. If it's dry, put the choke on and try to start it. If it still doesn't start, pull the plug, pour a few drops of gas in through the plug hole, replace the plug and try to start it with the choke on. If it still won't start, get a Stihl chainsaw.

Petrol leak exhaust

the unit is flooded...pull the spark plug and turn the unit over a few times to help dry it out.problem is that the crank case is also full of fuel.you can turn the unit upside down for a day to help the fuel out.install new spark plug, don't choke it,pull the trigger to full throttle pull the recoil ten times this will pull the fuel up to top of cylinder.remove spark plug pull a couple times and reinstall the spark plug.start the unit. if the unit floods again you have carb troubles.the needle is stuck open letting in too much fuel and it needs to be replaced.let me know if this helped.
