Sometimes these blade bolts are torqued excessively by the maker so they won't come off easily. Made sure you lock the blade somehow, and use a breaker bar long enough to get good leverage. Or maybe the bolt is lefthand thread?

How to change blade boss on briggs &stratton sp 470

Unscrew the central bolt (9/16") - remove blade and any washers etc. It's a conventional right hand thread (anti-clockwise to remove), but may well be extremely tight. If necessary, grind the head of the bolt off and replace it.

The blade boss slides off the shaft - in theory. In practice, you will probably have to use a puller bearing on the blade bolt to pull it off. Remove the drive belt first!

How to change a mitre saw blade

When changing the blade on your mitre saw the first step is to unplug the tool for safety reasons. DO NOT disassembly the safety cover, there is a bolt on the housing that when loosened allows the cover to be moved away from the blade to expose the spindle bolt. After moving the ASSEMBLY away from the blade turn the blade by hand slowly while pushing on the spindle lock to stop rotation. Loosen the blade bolt (usually left hand thread) and place the parts in the order removed, e.g. blade bolt outer flange, blade spacer if used. Reinstall blade noting the rotation of the teeth and replace parts in reverse order. After installation check for rotation by carefully turning the blade by hand and replace safety cover to its original position and tighten bolt.

How do I change blades on a toro 42 in zero turn

Lift front of machine and secure,

Use a pipe wrench over top of blade and against deck, to keep blade from turning,

Use 1/2 " breaker bar to loosen bottom bolt,

Remove blade,

If the bottom bolt doesn't loosen, you may need a wrench at top of deck, above the bottom bolt, to loosen the bottom bolt.

Replace, or sharpen blades, install in reverse order.

GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

How to replace cutting blade

Before ever touching the cutting blade remove the plug cap from the spark plug ( this is in case the engine should fire whilst turning the blade ), tilt the mower backward onto its handles, the bolt size for the blade is normally a 9/16 and will be a normal right hand thread ( turn bolt anti clockwise ) the bolt will be tight i would suggest a socket or if you have, or can borrow an impact wrench this will make things much easier, once off replace with a new blade, make sure the new blade aligns with any pins on the blade carrier conected to the crank, insert and tighten the bolt.

How do I replace a skilsaw blade?

The saw has a bolt in the center of the blade. The saw blade will have to be held in place, (so it can't turn), while the bolt is being loosened. Pay attention to the rotation direction, as your replacement will need to rotate in the same direction. Once you have removed the bolt, there is a centering spacer that fits between the bolt and the blade, remove it paying attention to how it fits..you will need to put it on the new blade in the same manner. You can now remove your blade and replace. Good Luck. I hope this is very helpful!

Cant remove blade on lawn mower

Follow directions. See if this works;

Blade Maintenance
Warning! Switch off, remove the isolator
key, battery and grassbox before adjusting
or cleaning.
Always wear gardening gloves when handling
or working near the sharp blades.
Turn the machine on its right side and inspect
the blade; if blunt or damaged, replace.
Use the following procedure to remove and replace
the blade:
Insert a screwdriver into hole 26 to lock the
drive. Hold the blade 30 using gardening gloves
(not provided) and use a spanner (not provided)
to remove the blade bolt 29, blade washer 28
and blade 30.
Fit the blade 30, blade washer 28 and the blade
bolt 29. Ensure that the blade is the correct way
up (so that this symbol can be seen located
as in figure I) and tighten the bolt 29 firmly.
Ensure the screwdriver is removed before attempting
to turn the machine on.

If this procedure does not work then try the following;

It is not uncommon for the blade bolt to become seized onto the shaft due to all the gunk and moisture on the underside of the deck. Try to soak the bolt several times over with penetrating oil ( WD 40, PB Blaster, etc). Spray the bolt head, the top of the blade where it contacts the shaft, etc. Do this several times and let the penetrating oil soak in. Hit the bolt head gently several times with a hammer to loosen up the corrosion. Then try to remove the bolt per directions.
Hope this helps, if so Please rate, Thanks, and Good Luck!

Change rotory blade on craftsman 917377794

This is a nice mower, it has a Honda engine. The blade bolts onto a "blade brake clutch" which is why you see 3 bolts. Removing the two outer bolts should release the blade. Normally these bolts are about 1/4" to 5/16" diameter at the threads, and have split washers to prevent them from accidentally coming loose from vibration or impact.

Here's the steps I use when replacing the blade:

  1. Pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug.
  2. Lay the mower over on it's side (gas filler cap should be up, so whichever side allows the gass filler cap to end up on the high side of the engine).
  3. Find a wrench that properly fits the blade bolts.
  4. If right-handed; wearing a garden or protective work glove on the left hand, grasp the blade.
  5. Unbolt both bolts by turning in a counter-clockwise direction (left circular direction).
  6. Remove the bolts being sure not to lose the locking washers.
  7. Pull the blade off the blade mount (sometimes a light tap is necessary to loosen the blade from the blade mount).
  8. Replace the blade with the exact Sears part number (diagram and parts list attached below).
  9. Thread the bolts back on using your fingers to get them started - don't force them if they start to bind or you'll cross-thread them; bad thing).
  10. Snug the bolts down tight, sufficient to compress the locking washers flat.
  11. Don't overtighten, they need to be tight, but if you use a long handle wrench or ratchet drive you can cause them to break or fail while the balde is spinning, another bad thing. Tighten them snug assuring the washers compressed flat.
  12. Turn the mower back upright onto its wheels.
  13. Replace the spark plug wire back onto the spark plug.
  14. Leave sit for 30 minutes before starting to assure the oil has returned level in the engine before you attempt to start the engine.
Here's your diagram and parts list:

Need to change saw blade, lost instructions

1st, !!UNPLUG the saw!! Wear gloves to prevent nicks from contact with the saw blades.
If this is a handheld 'skill-saw' type saw, use a piece of wood to chock the saw blade from turning as you use a proper size socket/wrench to loosen the bolt which holds the blade.
The bolt will loosen counter-clock wise. It will probably be very tight, and you will have to use some effort to loosen it.
Remove the bolt, lift the follow guard and remove the blade.
Replace the blade with a like size diameter blade by raising the follow guard, inserting the blade, replacing the bolt, using a piece of wood to keep the blade from rotating and TIGHTEN the bolt. You will almost feel as if you need three hands to accomplish this procedure but its been done millions of successful times.

Good luck. :)
