Question about Whirlpool ED2FHGX Side by Side Refrigerator
Bought refrigerator and will be delivered next week. However, I will have to remove doors in order to fit thru interior doorway. Since this is the first refrig with water and ice on door, will it be a problem to remove doors?
You will have a problem. However the delivery men know a trick. I used to deliver em before I learned how to fix em. You mess around and have to fish any hoses out the door that might end up costing a service call because it is not covered in the warranty. It is best to let the guys go ahead and set it up for you. If you had a coupla strong guys who knew how to work a dolly then you could get the ice box in the door without taking the doors off. What you do is open the doors and begin by easing a door in firs being careful not to knock the door off the hinges then ease the ice box into the door and swing it to the side to get the other door in. It can be done but if you are not careful you could mess up the door. Best to let the guys who deliver it install the ice box. They should connect the water and level the icebox before leaving. Yeah it costs a few dollars more but these new machines are expensive and have delicate electronics. Banging them around, taking wires loose, loosing hoses inside the door, losing harness inside the door ain't good. Been there Done that.
