I don't understand why my GE telephones model 21028GE3 will not work now that I have cable telephone, they worked fine on my old AT&T line. My other phones work fine but these GE phones will not work.
I called Thompson's phone company 1-800-720-2094 (which is who GE goes through) and apparently it is a hardware issue. That couldn't offer any suggestions for the fix except to call the cable company to see if they can issue us a new hardware device. . . . apparently there is a compatability issue. . . .well, duh, ya think?!! I guess the phones don't work with cable lines. Any advice on your end? Will another cable modem box work on this? We go through Time Warner. . . has anyone else had better luck? Please let me know ASAP, I'm desperate.

You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
I use a ATT calling card I put the 1-800 number and stored it in A then stored the pin# in B it will go throught ,so try to dial it in
it still will work . But the same works on our phones.Could it be dialing in an Area code?
Did you get an answer to this? We have the exact same problem and cant find out manual. The screen is blank and after we had a power outage we were not able to get a dial tone. Without the screen we too are blank.
I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.
#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.
reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

What is "Bell" and "Cogeco"? Did you change phone line provider companies? If so, you would need to ask them if it's possible to change. You are getting the information they are sending you. I do not believe the information is being altered by your phone.
