A power surge most likely damaged your printer. Printers are a cheap item and getting it repaired would most likely not a cost effective solution. To prevent power surge problem you need to connect all your computer equipment and printer to a power board with a built-in surge protection then plug this power board into the mains outlet.
Sounds like a RAM problem. Go to the back of the machine, You will see 2 large, thumb Screws, Twist them about half a turn and remove the main board. Remove and reinsert the memory stick. If that does not fix it the main board or the electronics module has probably failed.
Some part of the mechanism is locked or the encoder strip isn't in position. Look inside the printer and make sure the cartridge carriage moves freely and that there isn't anything that could stall the carriage, check for pieces of paper or other strange objects. Try resetting the printer disconnecting all the cables and holding [CANCEL] and [PAPER SIZE] while connecting the power cable only.
That is a laser fault. Normally the motor that turns the mirrors in the laser assembly is failing. You can also try this. take the back off the machine, there is a ribbon cable attached to the main board that I have seen unplugging and re connecting resolves an L6. about the best price I have seen on that laser is about $300. Google a business called "the parts drop". You can look up the part and price there. Honestly, that is one heck of a job replacing that laser. You pretty much have to split the machine in half to replace it.
