Uninstall and reinstall your Photoshop.
Good if you run your antivirus and clean your computer before reinstall.
To clean it, use CCleaner, you can download it here:

Photoshop CS3 Freeze Fix

This article is a how-to on how to fix an Adobe Photoshop freeze at start-up. It involves resetting or deleting the Photoshop preferences file.

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401600&sliceId=1

To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

This is a quick and easy fix that Adobe claims will sometimes fix erratic or strange behavior such as freezes. Until next time, happy Photoshoping!

Photoshop cs3 error

You have to 'Export' the file. You'll be offered Quark 7 or 6 for file type.

you also can try to restore preferences files.
click shift+ctrl+alt when open any cs suites and click yes when you are prompted to restore all preferences.better try this before you taking hard times of reinstalling it.

Adobe photoshop CS 3 upgrade version

The point of an upgrade edition of a piece of software is so that you can upgrade your existing software. You need Photoshop 7 or higher to use the upgrade. If you don't have it, you will need to return/refund your purchase of the cs3 upgrade, and get the full version of the software instead.

Your other option is to purchase an earlier version of adobe photoshop, in order to install it so that you can upgrade it. Seems very round-about but I suppose it would work, and I'll bet if you find adobe photoshop 7 somewhere, it'll be awfully cheap ;)
