Re; hotpoint refrigerator

My son jumped off the counter and since then the refrigerator fan has not stopped running and it is very loud and annoying. I just need some help on how to quiet it. I have tried to bang on it lightly but it doesn't work at all.

Probably the blades are hitting something , slide the fridge out and inspect, as far as it running all the time, many fridges run a lot more often than you think. the fan being noisy is drawing your attention to it more now.

My Hotpoint makes a high pitched humming noise all the time.

Hi,

This noise is most likely coming from the evaporator fan motor that is located behind the panel just below the ice maker. There is an air duct that the fan blows through to cool the ice maker that is why the sound is heard in the ice maker area more.

The noise does not hurt anything but the motor can be replaced if it gets too annoying, it is a fairly common complaint. The part number for the motor is WR60X10185 and runs about $60.00. It is a bit challenging to get to but can be done with a bit of patience by removing everything in the freezer and taking the back panel off the inside of the freezer.

Hotpoint refrigerator model # CTF16GKC.. a loud annoying buzzing noise recently started coming from below the fridge. What is this and what can be done to ELIMINATE it?

You could have a piece of paper hitting the condensor motor fan blade. Pull the machine out from the wall, unplug it and remove the fiber or metal panel at the back, bottom of the fridge. The fan will be on the right side. Check if for any debris that might be hitting the fan blades.

Hotpoint side by side has recently bugun making a lot of noise

Check for frost in the freezer compartment that may suggest a defrost problem which would cause it to run for extended times and make more noise. The other possibility is that if the fan is making a up and down type of noise, it will need a new fan in the freezer section due to a faulty bearing in the motor.

HOT POINT NOT COOLING WELL

if the condenser fan ( the one near the compressor) is not running and the compressor is running, then that's not good. try to lubricate the bushings of the fan and see if it would run. feel the blade if it turns smoothly. if it's sticcky, then there is your problem.

it should be running the same time as the compressor. if the compressor stops, the fan should stop too.

It might be ice around the fan. Try defrosting it. This has been happening to mine, even through it is supposed to be 'frost free'
