Question about Whirlpool LER4634J Electric Dryer
You most likely have a bad heater. Sometimes the broken heating element will make contact until the machine vibrations disturb it. A faulty thermostat could also cause this symptom.
Try to check for the problem when the heater is not working.
Unplug the machine! Check the heater for continuity with a multimeter. If it does not have continuity, replace it. If it does have continuity, I recommend that you also remove the heater and carefully look to see if the heater coil is broken, but touching at the break.
If the heater is good, the operating thermostat may be turning the heater off too soon.
Other failures can also keep the heater from working: temperature switch, timer, centrifugal switch, etc.
