Question about Canon CanoScan 8600F Flatbed Scanner
First be sure that the driver is for vista os ..and for you model..
After that go to device manager ..and take a look to see if the printer is seen there ..either installed or in yellow with a sign mark on it ..If it seen and installed right click and uninstall it ...after that remove the usb ..and insert it again ..the computer should see the new hardware and prompt you with the installation wizard ..if it doesn't ...reastart ..go to bios..and choose the optimal factory defaults ..and save changes with F10..and enter ..in this moment should restart itself , and see the new device ...proceed the installation ..but do net let it be done automatically ..but choose no not this time..and after that choose to install it from a specific location ..next ..and when it get to choose the driver ..browse and point to the downloaded driver from the site ..and next ...it should be ok ..if the driver is the proper one..
If after the installing and all goes well it still makes the same ..and do not communicate ..see on the site and download the software for vista ...the actual manager to make the commands and to manage the scanning...cause this you may have it from the disk and be for xp..
Or download and install ACDsee 9 and use it to import from device ..with the twain feature..its easy to locate its right in the center of the program..
the procedure is make the scan.and after that open the photo manager and import from device..choose the scanner from the list and see if it imports the job..
If does at least you know the driver its ok ..and the issue is the software you use to manage the action..
If it do not work with this either ..than the scanner do not actually scans..and take a look to see whats wrong ...reset it ..it may have the memory full or something like that ..
