open the unit and look for a small motor that ejects the tape through a series of mechanical gears, slides and hinges. Now turn this motor by hand.

SOURCE: Canon Elura 100 Power Dead

Just an update.
I sent it back to the factory - and they fixed the power unit.
However, they told me that now my Memory card and memory card operations will not work.
They did not charge me for it - they took it under warranty.
Everything else seems to be working.

How to install low profile firewire card

Hi

You don't say which brand and model of computer this card is for, so my answer cannot be specific to your computer.

Disconnect all cables from the computer.

Once you open the side/top and can access the motherboard, you should remove the blanking plate directly in line with one of the white PCI slots near the far left corner of the board (looking at it from the front of the computer). The blanking plates cover empty slots at the back of the computer case. Some blanking plates are held in place by a screw direct to the L-shaped lip. Others are held in place by a metal bar that is itself screwed to the exterior of the back panel of the case. Other blanking plates just clip in and out.

The card should be pressed evenly so that it slots cleanly and evenly into the PCI slot. The silver endplate faces outwards from thec interior of the back of the case, The lip of the card's silver enplate rests flat on a ledge at the interior of the back of the case, aligned with a screw hole (if the fitting is a screw type fitting) and the ****** at the bottom of the endplate fits into a small slot between the rear edge of the motherboard and the interior of the back of the case.

If there is a screwhole on the rear ledge, screw the lip to the case firmly but not too tight to the ledge.

Reconnect the cables to the computer and power it on and then install any driver software (drivers may not be necessary for the later versions of Windows),

If all is well, then test the Firewire port with a firewire cable and a camcorder.

If everything is fine, shut the computer down, disconnect the cables and close the case, before reconnecting and powering up again.

If any hardware fault arises, check the seating of the firewire card again and repeat the testing sequence.

I hope this helps.

The word (op en) on the top in place of the date or the day and nothing is responding

I had this problem and managed to fix it. There is a small metal plate locate inside the back cover of the phone that can be knocked out of position. The small plate should be in contact with the two screws in the top right hand side of the watch (when back plate is off).

To remove back plate you must remove the strap. To do this you must remove the four pins that connect the strap to the watch body. Take out the pins and set aside. The two plastic inserts can now be removed.

Remove the four screws and remove the back plate. Be careful not to lose screws, rubber seal and small plate.

Reglue the small plate to back plate and allow to set.

Reassemble watch in reverse order and watch should work as normal.

Good luck

Sounds that the wireless adapter daughter board is either loose or failing. First, we need to make sure it is making good contact with the laptop's motherboard. In order to do this, we have to do the following:
1. Turn off the laptop & remove the battery.
2. Look at the compartments in the bottom of the laptop. You should be able to see 2 or 3 areas with small rectangular plates covering them. These plates usually have one or 2 screws holding them in place.
3. Check which one of those plates is the one which covers the wireless adapter daughter board. When you find it unscrew its screws & remove it.
4. Below the plate, there will be a small daughter board screwed to the laptop's motherboard, with 2 thin wires attached to it (usually one black wire & the other is a white wire). Gently, remove both wires using a small flat screw driver to pull them out gently. Don't forget to note down which wire connects to which connection point.
5. Unscrew the wireless adapter daughter board & remove it from its slot.
6. Clean both the slot & the daughter board's terminal connectors using a dry electric contact cleaner. You can purchase it at an electronics store.
7. Leave the slot & the daughter board for a while to dry.
8. Re-place the daughter board back in the slot & screw it to the motherboard.
9. Reconnect the 2 wires.
10. Screw back the covering plate.
11. Put back the battery & turn on the laptop. Check if the problem was fixed.

If this did not fix the problem, you will need to repeat the steps to remove the wireless adapter daughter board & replace it with a new one.

I have an Elna 6003Q sewing machine. My light bulb went out and I need to replace it. How do you get it out and replace it?

some call it a lamp cover door or face plate it's on the left side of the sewing machine
some sewing machines have a hinge at the back of the face plate, you can gently pull it open to change the bulb
some machines -in the middle of the face plate there is a plastic plug, use a screw driver to gently lift the plug & then unscrew the screw & change the bulb.put the face plate back on put the srew back in & put the plug back in to concile the screw

My xdm6820 has no display showing. What do you sugest? Any ideas? It works fine but can not see clock or radio station. No display at all!!

There are two 3mm white LEDs inside the face-plate that need to be replaced. Remove the face-plate and turn it over. Remove the 4 screws in the corners. Un-snap the plastic back off the face-plate. This exposes the back of the printed circuit board. Pull the volume knob off the front of the face-plate. You may need to use a small screw driver to gently pry it up. Flip the face-plate back over and remove the one screw that's holding the printed circuit board in. Separate the printed circuit from the front of the face-plate. Be careful to not lose the spring for the push pin. Flip the printed circuit board over and you'll see a raised metal box surrounding the display. The one end of this metal box is covered in black tape. Remove this tape to revel a small cavity in the side of the metal box with two 3mm white LED in it. These are the 2 LEDs that need to be replaced. This cavity is so small there's not much working room. Note that the positive terminal for each of these LED is on the left and the negative terminal is on the right. Rather than un-soldering the old LEDs I found it easier to use a small pair of diagonal cutters to just cut their leads and then pull them out of the cavity. Leave enough of the old leads sticking up to solder the new LEDs to. Trim the leads of the new LEDs to the proper length, slide them into the cavity one at a time and solder their leads to the stubs of the old leads. Make sure you get the polarity correct. Put everything back together and you should be good to go. I hope this helps you out.

Canon ZR85 camcorder won't turn on

Steps for removing the tape from a totally dead ZR85:
1. Turn camera upside down.
2. Move "Open/Eject" button to full right position (toward lens).
3. Manually push tape door open.
4. On the metal surface that sits between you and the tape, there is a very small screw. There is probably a yellow sticker next to the screw that says "Do not press on this part". With a small jewelry phillips screwdriver, remove that screw.
5. Push the metal plate (with tape) in the direction ofr the door and lift slightly. The metal assembly holding the tape comes loose, exposing the top of the tape.
6. Pull the tape upwards (out of the camera). At this point, the tape will still be engaged in the play heads. With the cartridge out far enough to see the heads, reach in with your jewelry screw driver and carefully lift the tape over the heads, and free from the camera.
7. Use the eraser on the end of a pencil to wind your tape back into the cartridge.
8. When re-assembling the mechanism in the camera, there are two curved slots on both sides of the piece you took loose. You'll need to thread these onto two posts inside before you place the top back in position and put the screw back in.

Digital video camcorder

Try the most obvious solutions first; making sure the AC adapter for the camera is plugged into the camcorder-- and the plug orientation is correct if applicable, and it is in turn plugged into the wall.
Is the wall outlet working? Try another location in your home to be sure. Is the AC adapter working? If you have a battery, attach it to the camera and see if it charges. Next, look for obvious outward physical damage to the camcorder that could cause it to stop working.
The thin battery you speak of if generally just for backing up the time and date, and is not needed for operation.
The power switch on Canon models is usually a slider that goes from Manual to Auto to VCR mode. If it is dirty or wearing out, move it a small amount to one side or the other, while watching the LED power indicator. If you see it flash, or light dimly, the switch is bad.
Read the manual-- the unit may have a reset function you can access, or require a tape in it to power up. Hope these help.
