  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Perform the format from the camera's setup screen. If unable to format still, then memory card is bad. Replace it.

I'm assuming you are having a problem formatting the memory card?

The soultion would be to connect it to a PC or laptop that has a card reader installed, then format the card via Windows.

If it is a micro SD card, you may need an adapter to convert it to a SD card.

    Thanks,

UNABLE TO ACCESSMY 4GB MICRO SD CARD

Your memory card reader lacks SDHC compatibility. You must either update your pc card reader to one which is compliant with SDHC or use a cheap external card reader to do the job.

SD and SDHC cards look the same and fit the same slots, but they have significant technical differences which older readers cannot handle.

My USB says that it is 4gb, but when i go to properties, it says that over half of the space has been used, yet there isnt anything in my USB!!!???

Hello...Pal! You will have to format your disk using your computer so that it works properly. You have two options to format for micro sd card. One is, you are to open my computer and right click on the sd card drive and choose format option. This will display a window, there is a option of quick format, make a check sign to this and press format button. Second is, go to start menu -> Program Files -> Accessories -> and choose command prompt. when command prompt window opens, type e.g, "format K:" and press enter, if it ask for volume label, type its drive name like Personal (C:), only type the name e.g, Personal, and if it does not ask for volume label, press enter one more time, then this will show a surity message, type Y and press enter, your micro-sd card will be format successfully.

you should download memory retriever it fixes your memory card and retrieves your data. i had the same memory card and i thought it was from the memory card acting up so i got a new one. but it was kind of from both the phone and memory card but i downloaded the program and = ] my new memory card wasn't formatted so now am all good! both of them working because my san disk memory card wasn't working and it deleted all my data. so now it retrieved and now is working! give it a try! and tell me what happens

Be careful, if you use the USB cord to plug the phone up make sure that your not formatting the entire phone.

Did the Micro SD card come with the bigger card to plug it into making it a standard size SD card ? If so then you can plug that into a card reader if you have one go into MY Computer, and right click on the drive of the SD card click format.

Those are the only other ways of solving said problem if you can't do so on the phone itself. Also the phone may not accept a memory card of such size.
