If you do not have a USB connection you can purchase one. Please take your pc to a shop as you do not give a clue about what kind of mouse hook up you're attempting. Yes is the short answer as in - if the mouse comes with a usb sending unit - you will need one so the pc can 'talk' to the wireless mouse. Do I need a USB - c66a0b7.jpg

How do I connect the mouse?

i am assuming you have a usb mouse and a PS2 connection on the computer. If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
So that the mouse cable plugs into the USB female connection and the male ps/2 plug end goes int othe female ps2 port on the computer.
If this is the case you have the wrong converter the chester will convert a ps/2 on the mouse or keyboard to a usb on the back of the computer.. Can you tell us what sort of mouse you are trying to connect does the end of the cable have a usb plug on it a bit like the blue usb plug in your picture.
If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
Google it and see the difference.

I need an adaptor for my mouse chip to I can plug it in as there aren't enough flat ports on my computer. Where can I obtain one of these?

It sounds like you have run out of USB ports and you need to plug in the reciever side of your wireless mouse. You have 2 options, a USB female to PS2 male adapter, or a ISB "hub". The hub is easiest to find and you can use double stick tape to hold it to your desk or computer case. Runs about $10 at your nearby department store's electronics department. You may also be able to find a USB splitter cable but they are not as easy to find. The USB female to PS2 adapter would have to be ordered as it's not commonplace so stores won't stock it.

When you purchase the wireess mouse it should come with a USB device that plugs into a USB port and reads the mouse, all wireless mouses need a USB eye to read the mouse.

Good luck.

I guess you have a mechanical problem, sounds like the mother board have some issues on starting all devices.

If you could use keyboard to go in the bios, and see the screen, if would be the OS that need to be repaired.

How to put cordless mouse on pc

A cordless mouse is usually attached to the computer with a USB wireless device that usually comes with the mouse. All you have to do is plug the USB device into an available USB port on the back or front of your computer and you should be ready to go. The device will install itself in most instances. Then you need to make sure that you put batteries into the mouse itself in order for it to work. Sometimes a wireless mouse will come with an installation cd that will assist you in the installation process.
