Current actually runs from neg to pos. If you need 0Ga for these amplifiers ( not sure of their current draw) the U NEED to have it on both the Pos and Neg. Neg should be as short as possible to the body, remove paint and use "coppercoat" grease and bolt/nut to the frame. Then add a 0 Ga wire at the Batt from Neg post to the frame/body.
Use the proper size fuse from Pos of Batt with 0 Ga back to the amplifiers. use power dist block 0Ga to 4Ga to each amplifier. Most amplifiers in MONO (1 CH mode) can handle 4 ohms but check your impedance configuration.

You should definitely upgrade the power wire to the sub amp to 4 gauge -absolutely your choking your amp its starving for current-poor thing is starving !!!!!!!

Green light blinks slowly on my JL Audio 300/4 amp

Check your fuse at the battery. While AGU glass fuses "look" good, when you read the voltage AFTER the fuse, you can only be getting 5 volts or so. I can't tell you how many times I have seen this.

yes a 1200 watt amp will do the trick.. the problem would be in the box the 12w3v2 sub needs a good size box and you should have one made for your car. and yes you will get the bass you want

Jl amp

If the battery is at or above 12v and the voltage at the amp (measured directly across the terminals of the amp) is 5v, that would require hundreds of amps of current which should easily blow the 80 amp fuse. If the fuse is defective, is would account for the voltage drop without excessive current draw.

Have you checked the ground connection between the amp and the vehicle's chassis ground point?

Amp voltage

Well this is interesting, Let me start by saying if you have a 2 ohm load and your system is set for 4 ohms you are going to overdrive your load and burn up your amplifier, maybe not right away, but sooner or later it will fail due to electrical and thermal stress bought on by power dissipation issues.

Yes you can get 2000 watts out of your amps, but the correct way is to bridge your amplifiers if you can, and terminate them into the proper load.

Thank you,

2000 watt jl audio amp & car battery...

Make sure that you don't have any strands that would connect the remote lead to the constant +12 volts. Also make sure that your remote lead fromt the radio switches off when you shut the car off. If you don't have an aftermarket radio with a remote turn-on lead, tap into the ignition wire to the radio. Let me know what kind of car you have and I can point you in the right direction to get the right wire. Good luck.
