When taking a photo the picture colour change from a bright sunny day to almost dusk on the screen and on the photo as it is visible when downloaded the photo. This is a new problem I've had the camera for 2.5years and it only recently started doing this

I've got the Powershot S5Is and it must be some setting that just was changed by accident as I normally just switch it on and snap away. Where does this white balance sit?

It sounds like the white balance may have been accidentally set to a darker setting, I don't see the make or model of camera, if it has an automatic setting, try it, otherwise, go over the settings you usually use and make sure something hasn't been altered, Hope this helps.

Here is a link to a manual for your camera, on pages 80-90 or so you will find directions for adjusting aperature, shutter speed, and white balance. I downloaded a copy of this manual to make sure it worked, good site'

Check your EV level settings, possibility is that this could be in minus...
Best way is to Set your camera to factory defaults. If it is due to settings then it will solved your problem.... otherwise get it serviced.

How can i get the right touchup paint match for my car

Hi Robert:
Apart from trying to get a dealer colour code, Here's what I would do.
1) Take a picture in bright sunlight.
2) Download the picture to my computer.
3) Print the picture on my Canon printer.
4) Take the picture outside and compare to the car (on a sunny day)
5) Take the picture to my local Canadian Tire or Lordco or Napa store, and match to the "rattle can" paint selection.

When i take a picture it looks red , I took in to wal-mart and they told me to send it to you all

thats very helpfull of them??? they dont have a clue do they?
unless your using a red filter to take photos with its this part playing up
all digital cameras and camcorders have whats called a built in
"white balance meter",,,and yours is not working right,,,
the white balence meter is to let the camera see what colour light its seeing in,,,, the colour temperature of sun light on a bright sunny day is 6600 begrees kelvin,,, in an electric light buld is about its about 3500 degrees kelvin or less? if you took a photo in sunlight the camera sees anything white in the photo "as white" and is happy to print it as white,, but in electric light buld it sees "white" as "red" this is due to the drop in colour temperature, your eyes can also see this (but your brain has its own white balance meter built in) what the white balance meter will do is change what it records or see's to take out the red and make it look white insted,,by changing the clolur temprature of the light its taking the photos in try this out,,,
take a white sheet of paper,, go out side on a sunny day and take a photo of it,,, if its not white and it looks a bit red its the white balence meter playing up in the camera,,,
yes i know,,, you hate me now? its as clear as mub "A"

I solve the problem of extreme reflection in the lcd screen.

I assume you're talking about pictures taken outside on a sunny day. All cameras are hard to see in bright light.

LCD screen and pictures go completly white

The camera is defective. But as you've only had the camera three months it still is under warranty. Canon is usually very responsive to these type of problems and will bend over backwards to make things right (probably the most responsive of the camera companies).

Call 1-800-OK-CANON to resolve this issue.

hi

i think the LCD has been set to a very high brightness set the LCD brihtnes lower from the settings..

better more is to reset the camera to the default settings this would set the aperture, shutter, Exposure, LCD brightness and other settings to defaults and this would save from any unwanted changes than required

No picture when its sunny outside colour is distorted inside its a jvc digital cam gr-d33ag

On several camera the ccd is sensitive to bright and causes the images to come out very dark or out of focus because the auto focus sensor is being blinded. Try taking pictures with you back towards the sun and try turning off your flash this some times helps out. I hope this helps you and happy photo taking.

Pictures have a purple hue to them Cyber-Shot DSC-P52

I suspect that the color is fine in the screen, if that’s true I would check the “White Balance.” This control is use to compensate for different light sources. The electronics will respond different for sunny or cloudy days and for incandescent or fluorescent lamps. I suspect that it was taken out of AUTO mode. I find that AUTO works well for most people in most situations.
Select photo or movie mode press menu, select WB, select AUTO.
