Ive switched from a Thomson speed touch USB modem to a Zoom X6. My ISP broadband works fine on the Thomson, i.e. the phone line set up is good. When I switch to X6 using the exact same phone line set up, the DSL flashing light is always on. Im still at set up stage / installation, so havent yet configured the X6. Is there anything you can help me do?

You dont need both. Do the following: Unplug your speedtouch from the phone line at the back of the speedtouch unit. Plug that cable into your Zoom. Then plug one end of an ethernet cable into router and one end into your PC.
Type http://10.0.0.2 into a web browser (eg. Firefox or Internet
explorer) username/password is admin/zoomadsl go to basic setup and
input your ISP username and password (the one given to you by your
internet provider) under PPP. Click configure my connection. Save
changes and then write to flash (both buttons on bottom of page)
hopefully you haev installed the software first on yoy computer>
turn off the computer. connect the phone line one end to the ethernet port on your computer and the other end to one of the LAN port on the x6.
power up the (power cube shipped with the X6), the Pwr and the WLAN should come on and become steady, the LINK light should blink,
turn on you computer, connect a new phone line between ADSL port and the wall jack, the LINK light should become steady.
please rate the answer if it solved your porblem.

Goto 10.0.0.2, you need to find the speed duplex section, if its on auto negotiate, change it to either 10/100 full duplex...or one that works. you will see if it works becuase if it doesnt, you will see an error icon on the netowrk icon on the bottom right of your screen
try to lower down the MTU settings of your router. If that does not work, you can try to isolate the concern by using another modem and checking if the same problem happens. if it does, then it is a problem with your ISP but if not then it is on the modem. You can try reset and reconfigure or firmware upgrade.
the internet light, is usually a blinking green, showing that it's seeing the internet signal. The only reason it's red, is cause there's no net signal..double check the phone line going into the back of your router, and change it if you need to. check your computers warranty here 4 FREE
the modem may have gone faulty so if your isp provided it ask them to replace it if the modem is in warranty period and if your isp provides internet connection through the phone line then first please try plugging the modem on main socket in with an adsl filter plugged in and if this is not the case then problem is definately the line through which the broadband signal come to your place which is suppose to be sorted out by your isp.
