I have a Kodak DC215 Zoom camera that I haven't used for many years. What kind of cable do I need to download new pictures onto my desktop computer, and how would I do the entire process of downloading them?

    Hi There Again!

I have itunes. I uninstalled "Bonjour" without knowing that it is needed for itunes. Now itunes doesn't work right for me. It's tellng me to uninstall itunes and then reinstall. My question is this: How can I reinstall and still keep all of the music I've purchased and the playlists I've made without losing any of it?

    Thank You.

Once you connect the cable to camera and other end to computer , then there will be a removable storage will be indicating in your computer . Now you can transfer photos, videos, data etc between computer and camera .

Hello Tom, We are talking about an old Kodak model here. I do not know where you will find any parts except maybe a used one for parts on E-Bay. I would give that a shot. Sorry I can not help any further.

No connection with computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I have a Kodak DX3600 Zoom Digital Camera. I purchase around 2001. It has a docking station. I have had no problems with it until I thought I was updating the program with apparently something that was...

Have you tryed removing the memory card from the camera and putting it into a card reader and plugging it into your computer via the USB port.
Then follow the on screen prompts to download your pictures onto the computer and into your MY PICTURES file. With this you dont have to use the Kodak program at all and still be able to view and use the pictures. If you have not got a card reader, they are readly available on the market but you will need to know what type it is i.e. SD, XD and so on. Good luck.

Kodak Easy Share CD1013 pictures won't download on Vista

Hello and welcome to FixYa

Please go to a electronics store and buy a USB card reader. I bought one last week and it cost $0.5 so its cheap as dirt. Then simply remove the card from your camera , pop it into the reader and the pictures will appear on a drive like a flashdrive in your my computer folder.

This is a much better option than using the camera's cable as it is faster , safer , saves on your camera battery and you don't need to install any software or drivers.

The card reader will most likely also still be compatible with any new camera you buy in future.

Kind Regards
Andrea

Dc215 batteries

If the plastic battery door latch is broken (the most common cause) the latch is obtainable for under $9 but professional labor would be more than the camera is worth (probably about $35 to $55). Instructions are available for a do it yourself installation, but it does involve disassembly and reassembly of the camera. ( takes about 40 minutes) Although the procedure is not extemely difficult, if you have no experience in working with small electronic devices the chance of damaging the internal camera workings is rather high.

I know of no issue, but find that USB issues abound. Try another port and motherboard drivers. Bob
