Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I Have an old Toshiba Model 2595. I'm trying to set it up to play cd's and dvd's, but I discovered that the PC doesn't have the sound drivers for the cd player. I don't have the original disks that came with the PC. The unit was given to me with Windows XP Pro loaded on it. Someone must have deleted the drivers when they installed XP. Where can I download the drivers from on the web

Hi lucky, you did not enter enough information. Click this link that will open Toshiba's model finder. Find your model from the list & download & install the driver software for your sound.

Unable to recognize new DVD drive

sounds like it's missing a power source. Re-check to ensure both a power source and cable are firmly in place.

Installed Toshiba Samsung CD-RW/DVD Drive does not work

You will have to install the drivers that came with the drive. If you don't have the CD that came with it to install the drivers, you will have to search the Toshiba site for the specific model number of the drive. You should be able to download and install the drivers from their website. Hope this helps.

Cd's dont load and play. dvd's do load and play

thats odd, should still be under warranty, if they offer to replace it for free then go for it, because if it read dvd's and not cd's then I agree its the unit

I have a IBM 600E laptop. Changed my CD rom reader to DVD rom. Can't play DVD on this. Says DVD driver missing. The hardware is a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2302 reader. Where can I get driver to be able to play...

just go to www.driverguide.com signup there, after you signup, login with your correct username and password. After you login, click manufacturers, click letter t, find toshiba and click it. after the you click it, you are redirected to another page. If you see the search for company drivers search box, enter your the model and number of your hardware which is the dvd rom. and follow the instructions given by that site to download your driver

Good luck!

Dvd cd rom drive reads code 10 on Satellite A205-S5825 laptop

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123 check error code 10:
1. update the driver: go the toshiba website, go to support, provide system info and look for knowledge base info related to your problem and also look for possible driver updates - post the model of your laptop and we'll help getting the page for ya!

2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943104/
make sure the device is enabled in windows and in the bios.
also disable any advance features (check with toshiba if you have any.. .and make sure your driver is updated before), lastly play around with the settings (make sure the driver is updated before doing this)

and remember to try one thing at a time, test, then move on to try something else.. be patient and methodic.

post back with your findings!!

Toshiba A305-6825 laptop prolem (no visible CD/DVD Rom drive). In Device Manager: HL-DT-ST dvdram gsa-t40F ATA device error. Media test failure. There appears to be CD/DVD combo drive firmware...

You seem to be onto things (though your problem classification was generic instead of for your Toshiba model A305.) Install all the updated drivers for your laptop from the laptop's support site (Toshiba's, that is) so you can use your drive. Drives fail sometimes, and you could try sticking an old movie or something in there instead of nothing, but it is likely it is just the missing driver.

try to find the volume in your task bar, maybe was set to mute. if not see the volume. go to control panel double click the " audio and sound device" uncheck the mute "box" , same probelm occur.
do this,
Install the correct audio driver, maybe have error on it,
Find the CD/DVD utilities of your computer and the install the audio driver.,
if don,t have CD/DVD utilities tell me the Audio card model number or if the audio is builtin to motherboard tell me the motherboard for me to search the driver for you to download.
