You can probably find a keyboard on Ebay that will fit you computer. It is not difficult to change the keyboard, but it does require some expertise.
As a temporary solution you can use an external USB keyboard or a wireless keyboard. They are readily available.

Commonly, like yesterday, I fixed my niece's keypad by just cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Power down your machine, unplug the keypad from the machine.
First blow the keypad with a hair dryer without the heat or a blower. This would remove the dust and.
Now take a medium size brush and brush those keys taking the keypad upside down. While doing this tap the backside of the keypad time to time.
The next thing is a bit scary. But if you do it right this is best. Spray some Windex on the keypad and use a tissue paper or a cleaning cloth and clean the keypad on and between the keys.
This solved my niece's keypad.
Hope this helps you too.
You don't need any drivers. Laptops and desktops use an internal win device driver. You can actually find the file called keyboard.sys
What you need in your case in a new keyboard. For your Travelmate they sell for about $50. It takes maybe 10 minutes to change it out. This is something you can do at home. Look on you tube for something like laptop keyboard replace and you can see the process and decide if it is something worth trying. If you google or bing or whatever for travelmate 2410 keyboard or laptop parts you can find several dozen sources. If you look they will have instructions or videos for your travelmate.
Try and reload the motherboard drivers. If this does not work then you must remove the keypads and clean the shift key pads/switch . If this wont solve this can be related to a hardware issue and the cost of a new keypad should be checked.
Try if the key can be swapped from a condemned set.
You may have a bad key, or a key with something under it.
Turn the netbook upside down so that the keysj face the floor.
Bang on the back side that way you would to burp a baby.
Then, take a vacuum cleaner and **** out the spaces between the keys.
If this doesn't work, you may have to make an @ symbol manually by using the ALT key. (ALT plus 64). This should work in most Word Processing programs.
Make certain that the Num Lock key has been pressed to activate the numeric key section of the keyboard.
Depress the Alt key.
While the Alt key is depressed, type the proper sequence of numbers (on the numeric keypad) of the ALT code from the table above.
Release the Alt key, and the character will appear.
On a laptop computer, there usually is no numeric keypad. So, instead, depress the Fn (function) key, then the Alt key, then the numerical code sequence. The numbers are on the fronts of certain keyboard keys: M=0, J=1, K=2, L=3, U=4, I=5, O=6, 7=7, 8=8, and 9=9.
