It is FAAAR better to use an external card-reader than using a wired-connection to a digital camera, i don't recommend using a direct-connection get a card-reader; it's more reliable, faster and should not need any driver.

It's doubtful you will find a driver for your camera to work with Windows Vista. Invest in an inexpensive ($10) card reader that can read CF cards and plugs into the USB port on your computer. As soon as you plug it in, Windows will be able to "see" all the photos on the card.
