Hey osmund, You want to use your paper size which is 8.5 x 13" but in the custom paper size you are finding 8.4 x 14". Am I right. So, where is the problem my dear. Be sure, that your document size is in 8.5 x 13". Give Print command with custom size, it will print on that size you want.

That actually should make magazine quality color.
What are you experiencing? Do the colors not match? Are there smears or light streaks?
I will gladly work with you to revolve your problem, I just need a frame of reference to start.
Let me know.
You may simply need to download and install a different driver.
They are on www.xerox.com you should be running the PS version of a driver for better graphics.

SOURCE: do i can customize my paper size in MS Excel 2003

When you are in Excel, go to Print Preview, then Printer Properties. There should be a box that says "Custom Size." There you can input your paper size and name it so you can recall it anytime you want.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 8200 false "Replace Paper Tray" message

I've had a similar problem with a client's 8200 printer, and looking at the right hand side of the tray someone had previously put some tape over the topmost 'slot' (above where the green slider goes across).

I put some new tape over the top slot and the 'replace paper tray' message went away.

Admittedly, the tape gets pushed in so I don't know how long it will be before the tape gets dislodged and the error re-appears.

The printer is well out of warranty and they don't want to pay anything to get it fixed... so this solution is fine with them.

Hope this helps someone else out there :-)

SOURCE: printer is not recognizing the new custom paper size

You also have to create a form the same size in "server properties".

Click on "printers and faxes"
Click on "file" top left of screen, choose "server properties"
Click on "create new form"
type in width and height of paper

(my HP printer will not recognize any paper less than 5' in height and less than 3" in width)

If your create a form less than 5" in height ' and/or less than 3" in width - chances are that's why your printer won't recognize new form. Height HAS to be at least 5" and width HAS to be at least 3"

type in name of new form
save form and close

It should now be in your printer paper options.

My printer displays the message " put custom in manual tray",and I can't print.I have both paper and toner. What do I need to do to solve this?

it sounds like either in the drivers or the printer settings, you have a custom size paper specifications. I would recommend you check both settings and set it at plain paper with letter size, if that is what you are trying to print.

thanks adi

Using Phaser 8200 with Windows XP SP3 - when selecting CUSTOM paper size - Windows Explorer crashes

This happens most frequently with a bad driver install. You should go to Xerox.com and download the latest version of the device driver. Then reinstall the approrpaite driver and check to see how things go.

Printing a custom size card with a C7280,

There is a workaround for this problem by tricking the printer.
The paper sensor, on my printer model hp4500 seems to only sense the paper at the beggining of the print job.
What I did to trick the printer to print on odd size paper is slide the paper adjuster to 8.5 and put a regular white sheet in. Then put your odd size paper under it. When you print your document set the number of copies to 2 and print. The printer is going to sense that the paper is correct, and start the job.
Here is the tricky part... once the first 8.5x11 sheet is almost all the way through quickly slide the paper adjuster over to match the size of your odd width paper. The printer should pick up the odd paper and print the second copy. Fool you printa! You should be able to do batches of odd paper size under the first 8.5X11. I hope this helps.

Hi,
If you go to your printer properties, preferences or advanced, on the Main menu, is paper sizes,
click the little tab, look at the sizes list,
scroll to the bottom, and you will see.
Custom sizes by User, create your User Defined cusom size.

check your paper tray is setup correctly.

should be good now.

There are special cleaning sheets that you need to get for this printer. Ask the company you get your ink from, they should be able to get you some.

Error phaser 8200

This error message is related to the drum heater malfunctioning. It is basically 4 small halogen bulbs that warm up the image drum. Sometimes one or two of the bulbs will blow causing this error. The part # is 650-4228-00 Drum/Paper Heater assy. It is not extremely difficult to change, however you need torx bit screwdrivers to remove the components, also there is a very delicate paper sensor that needs to be removed, so you may want to have a technician replace it.

Hope this helps!

the issue here is whether your canon can handle that size of paper. is it running on the manual insert tray?

when you choose paper source, you'll need to identify where the paper is coming from..
