right on! I got lucky and bought a used Essenza at a thrift store for 10 bucks. It had the same problems as described above. I used your advice with the pulling back of the handle, and sure enough-there is water yet again! Thanks for the advice!!

It worked! The first one I bought I returned cause I didn't think it would be solved so easily. When I brought the second one, it had the same problem, so I said, it's not possible, there has to be a way to fix this easily. So I saw this fixya link and voila! It worked! Thanks!

Happened the same with mine and it was a blockage in the tip. Easy to take apart, give a good rinse and it should work

Try gluing the seam with lock tight glue or similar plastic gluing compound. Let it dry overnight and try again.

Nespresso U coffee does not come through the spout

There are two nozzles in front of the machine attached together, the nose of the bigger one on the top slides into the smaller one on the bottom. When it makes coffee, the spout outside the machine becomes lower so coffee can come out. When it is done making coffee, the spout goes up so water/coffee drips in the drip tray. If one of the nozzles breaks, the spout on the smaller one will not go down and the inside end is lower and coffee goes inside the drip tray. It has nothing to do with cleaning.

When i turn machine on and put the capsule in i press the start button and the water leak out the bottom instead of the spout

Turn the machine off with the Power button, and pump the pod receptacle latch on top 3-5 times. Turn machine back on. Ta-Da!

Our machine does not puncture the Nespresso capsule - so we only get murky water.

I just had the same problem with my new (less than one month use) Nespresso U. (the top of the capsule doesnt puncture and only water comes through). I called Nespresso customer service and a very helpful man suggested I run water through three times by pushing the top slider open with the Longa button pushed and then closed without a capsule in the chamber. That released the air bubble and now I am enjoying a wonderful cappuccino again! The customer service is fabulous, there was never a suggestion of charging me and I was told that Nespresso will send me a free loaner machine if anything goes wrong in the future that can be readily fixed over the phone. The Nespresso U is the best thing I ever bought.

Water not coming through nozzle of nespresso essenza

I have had this issue. I have removed round silver plastic piece from around coffee spout,(gently -do not crack it) I then removed and washed the black spout, I even used a toothpick once, to remove the stubborn coffee ground, Once it was cleaned - it worked perfect. If you run water from the faucet into spout it should flow smoothly. I warn you though, not sure what this does to any warranty, but don't mess with my morning coffee! I hope this helps.

Nespresso essenza problem

It's not supposed to make holes in the capsule until the water comes through. So, basically, when you put the capsule in, it pierces the capsule in three spots, on the top. The aluminum part will not pierce until you press the button and water comes through. If water is not coming through, then you can clear the air bubble by opening the lever on top of the machine, pressing the coffee button, and then closing the lever once the water begins to come through.
