There is a safety security feature to cause the GPS to stop working until you drive to the place the code was entered and reenter the password. Then it will work - OR call the manufacturer.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My tom tom is unable to locate a satellite for the last two weeks. I have tried rebooting but that has not worked. If I input a new route it just says searching for a satellite and nothing happens.

connect to tomtom home. check if any updates available. install if any available. start the unit, when turned on completely press and hold the reset button for atleast 8 secs and then go outside under the open skies and see what happens.

let me know, good luck.

Gps won,t move from last location

When you put in a new location how are you entering it? If you are using the "Where to?" menu then you will need to click on the "Map" button instead of GO when you find the point you are looking for, may it be an address or a Point of Interest. This will show the location on the map. If you want that to be your current location you must have the GPS turned off. Then on some units you will Have the option to set as your current location.

I hope this was some help.
Cheers

My Navigon 7100 doesn't turn on! It does get charged though...

I had a similar problem with my 2100Max. I took the SD card out, plug it into my computer and then reinstall it. It works like a charm these last months still.

Lost gps and then found 6 months later and cant remember password

To reset your ONE XL, use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button. The reset button is next to the memory card slot, on the bottom of your ONE XL. Then turn your ONE XL on it will be back to it's factory settings.

Touch Screen on my Garmin doesn't work

I believe simply pushing the reset button will fix your problem. The reset is located under the frame around the screen. To remove the frame, use your finger nail to carefully lift it off the screen. Then just push the reset button and you should be back in business.

please rate my answer as a fixya! Thanks.

Navigon 2100 problem

2 things that might help...use a paperclip and press the reset button (small hole on side, you'll feel a click) hold it for 5 seconds. THEN hold down the power on button for over 10 secs (keep holding while it shows version number) and it will perform a factory reset. You will possibly lose any settings and addresses, but better that than a locked GPS unit.

Satellite

Are you outdoors, open view to the sky? The GPS needs to relocate itself if it's been reset or moved far away from the last location it was used. It stores it's last location in memory just before you power down, so it can relocate quickly after you switch on.....presuming you are near where you switched it off.
And there's nothing wrong with checking if all the software on the GPS is up to date with the webupdater at garmins website

Adding addresses

Have you tried resetting unit to the factory default? To get to this, press the snake button, then settings, then user settings. On the last page you will see reset to factory defaults. This will erase all info on the device as if it were new.
