Computer does not boot upThe problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needsreseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up thenremove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop andget them to test the RAM for you.

Keyboard and mouse pad on my laptop. Acer 5100 vista

On an Acer, the Fn key plus F7 will turn the touchpad on and off.
Try that to see if it works.

Try to remove ram memory and put it back after a while. Do it on removed battery.

Keyboard and mouse stopped working

I would check the Flex cable's first. If keyboard is not working sometimes this does not allow the pad to work. Here is one of the sites I use for repairs. Good luck and have a good day.

Keyboard keep taking ma cursor back i ve have made fresh installations but it still wont work i even installed new bios tried new mouse and keybaord but it still wont work.i think acer really is bad

if the cursor is moving by itself off the screen then it is likely that the mouse pad is bad or needs reseated ,
remove the keyboard and re-seat or disconnect the mouse pad.

My acer aspire 5100 keyboard, usb mouse unusable

A temporay solution is to use a pcmia card with usb port slots. That way you can connect a usb keyboard, usb mouse or any other peripheral device thru this slot. It has worked for me for 1 month so far. It is the most inexpensive way to temporarily fix this aspire 5100 manufacturer defect. I believe that this model easily overheats and affects the motherboard in areas that control dvd, usbs, keyboard and mouse. I am contemplating a suit against Acer for this 'lemon' of a product. There has been no recall nor support from Acer to fix this problem and they continue selling this and other defective products. Feel free to email me at gitmodotcom@aol.com from comments or questions. Ray=)

What happens when you plug in an external keyboard and mouse?

Keyboard

Sounds like a keyboard problem, huh?
1. Make sure that there are no keys stuck down. In this case, I'd pay particular attention to the space and arrow keys. Make sure that they feel like each one is working right and that they all sound the same when operated.

2. With the power off- open the laptop up and set it on it's side on a firm surface. Give it a couple of sharp raps on the tabletop. This will tend to knock loose any foreign material that might be stuck under the keys. If you feel uncomfortable about doing this, you could remove the hard drive before taking this action. In fact, that would probably be a good idea.

3. Using a can of air and a good brush, blow around an under all of the keys and use the brush to clean out the keyboard as well as you can.

4. You might want to try reseating the keyboard cable.

5. Check and clean the area of the touchpad and mouse buttons.

6. I have seen this happen because of things like cookie crumbs or dried soda (Gets real sticky when it drys) having gotten into the area of the keyboard and/or touchpad.

If these things don't work, get back to me and I'll see what other ideas I can dig up for you.

Have a super day!
Ron-
