Question about Minolta magicolor 2400W Laser Printer
We have had this printer for about two years and have had to change the color cartridges 4 times. We do very little color printing, when I pull out the cartridges they have plenty of toner left, they are clear full cause I opened one to look inside. But the printer will not print anything untill I put in a brand new one. Is there any way to trick the printer into thinking the old ones are new? Kind of a dumb question, but this printer is costing alot of money to keep running. I try to go into the Status Display but when I click on it the screen just goes blank it doesn't bring up anything. I was hoping I could change the state of the" toner empty mode" But I can't even get into that part.? Any suggestions?
Have you tried taking the toner cartridge out of the printer and shaking it up a bit? Just make sure you do it outside or over a trash can. Shake it side to side.
Sometimes the toner bunches up and you can get some more life out of it by shaking it up.
Hope this helps

The only way to reset the toner error is to replace the counter chip on the toner cartridge. These should go for about $10 a piece. Otherwise, you can set the engine to continue on error, and ignore the blinking light. Better yet, I put a piece of electrical tape over it. You can still read the status on the LED's, but not have your wife complain about it. Saves you $40.

Removed each toner cartridge, shake it and replace it.
I don't know if this is the real fix but it worked for me at this time..
