Question about Denon AVR2310CI 71 Channels Receiver

1 Answer

Connecting audio from pc to receiver.

How do I get audio from my HP pavillion to my avr-2310ci. I am using my lcd tv as a computer monitor. I am using the old blue pin type connetor for my monitor but don't know if there is a connection on my receiver for audio compatible with my pc. Thanks.

What does your sound card have for audio outputs? Mine (M7250N Media Center) has all the expected 7.1 analog audio outputs AND a digital S/PDIF audio output that I run to my receiver's coaxial digital input.

Even if you have just 2-channel audio on your PC the headphone output can be used with an adapter that makes it conenct to a standard RCA audio cable. Run it to any available Linme Level input on the Denon. Get into your sound controls on the PC and make sure your Master Volume is unmuted and adjust whatever else applies to your machine that may affect the audio.

Your monitor is not really a player in this scenario.

TV and computer monitors have slightly different aspect ratios. You need to the configure the PC display settings. Check also if there is a panasonic display driver for your TV.

I have a denon avr-485 surround sound receiver i had got from a friend with no manual and i can not seem to figure out how to connect it to my new t.v. i had purched a 32' jvc lt32p679. Can someone please...

Find the manual at retrevo.com.

As far as connecting the TV goes. Consider that the TV is primarily a visual output device so resist the temptation to use it as a sound INput. The TV always gets its programming from somewhere else unless it uses its own antenna, so grab the audio from the source, not the TV.

You WILL need a Monitor Out feed to the TV so you can see what the receiver is doing during setup. It's in the manual.

I personally recommend against routing all video sources' video through an AVR because they add little in the way of improvement and introduce anomalies along the way. If your TV has enough video inputs I'd attach each one directly to the DVD/BD/Cable/Games, etc and run all audio directly to the AVR.

PC Sound Card Connection to Denon AVR-2805 or Samsung 40B610

  • Should I be connecting my pc sound card directly to the receiver or to the tv then to my receiver to get the best sound output? To your reciver
  • When I get the HD Digital Tuner, does that make any difference for the pc connection?
  • Try to connect everything that is sound onto your reciver then
  • connect all your video to your your TV for now
  • When you get your digital tuner connect all your inputs for video to(in order >reciever>HD Tuner>TV
  • Basicly everything goes to your tuner first.

No video/display on TV when using sony str dh 500

If your set up is HDR-AVR and TV all you need to do is go HDMI out from HDR to HDMI in(Sat.) of AVR and monitor out HDMI (or composite video) to TV. and select the Sat. input on the AVR. The sound is only comming from the HDR in this case and the composite video or HD video is being switched out to the TV when you select Sat. on your AVR
