Question about Hitachi Magic Wand Hv250r Hand Held Massager

Does not vibrate, I had no transformer

When i purchased my Hitachi massage the person did not tell me i needed an transformer so i simply purchased an international multi head adapter, plugged it into the wall, it worked for 2 seconds then all i could feel was the motor turning, there was no vibrating. I pulled the head off and it looks like the coiled spring was pulled out of the plastic drive shaft from the motor. Where would i send my massager to have this fixed professionally?

SOURCE: Sounds like its working, but nothing happens

I had the same problem with mine, it's due to the fact that the smaller spring has become un-lodged from the ******** itself.

You will need:
1. Roll of electrical tape.
2. Utility Knife
3. A small slot head screw driver OR a pair of needle nose pliers.

The solution is to unscrew the silver ring so that is can be moved up and down. Now, you need to use a utility knife and cut the blue rubber off of the spring. Once you have the blue rubber but off you can see a large spring with another smaller spring inside. Push the head of the ******** till the larger spring's coils are an 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch apart. Next take either the small slot head screw driver or a pair of needle nose and jam the smaller spring back into the hole in the center of the white plastic piece inside of the larger ring. Next plug it in to make sure the vibration is working, reattach the silver piece and tape the larger spring with electric tape.

When was the first vibrating chair made?

Massage chairs were first brought to market in 1962 by the Family Inada company. Today, Japan is the largest consumer of massage chairs with some surveys suggesting that over 20% of Japanese households actually own a massage chair. By comparison, massage chair penetration in the US market is estimated to be in the neighborhood of 1%. The current massage chair market is dominated at the top by a three dominant manufacturers: Fujiiryoki, Family Inada, and Panasonic. After the purchase of Sanyo by Panasonic, Panasonic announced plans to eliminate Sanyo as a brand for all current Sanyo consumer products.

Is it worth buying a massage chair in replacement of going to my weekly massage appointments at the spa?

I think so. Let's face it; although massage chairs can be expensive, they are a one-time fee that will pay off in the long run; whereas seeing a masseuse every week is an ongoing cost. Even putting price aside, buying a massage chair adds a level of convenience to your life. Having a massage chair in your home is like having a therapist on call 24/7.

It seems to have power going thru it..but no vibration...help

The small sping has come out of the shaft from the motor. If you open the unit you will see that the motor has a little impeller and a shaft with a slot in it. The little spring inside of the massager head is suppose to ride inside of that motor shaft with the little tab on the spring lining up in the slot. It's really flimsy and after I fixed mine it fell out again after 5 minutes of use. It needed a stiffer spring or a different way of engaging the motor shaft. I'm still working on this...

Can the Magic Wand Rechargeable Massager be charged from a 220 volt power?

If your wand is N American then "don't do it" 220 through a 110/120 will fry all the magic out of it. You could get a step down transformer 220 to 110. Plug that into the 220 socket and plug your magic wand charger into that.

The cost would not be worth it though ... buy some more magic that is 220. be happy ... not sorry :-)

Back Massager question

massager have hammer pads that send vibrations deep into your muscles. Make sure the part you are massaging is covered in cloth, then sit the hammer pad(s) on the part that needs massaging and let the vibrations penetrate and to the work.
