Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer

1 Answer

How do I find replacement inlet hoses for the cabrio dryer? Preferably not rubber hoses but steel. The short one coming from the cold side is male on one end and female on the other end.

Thanks but I'm talking about the short little hose leading from the cold side to the Y connector. One end is female (going into the Y connector) and male to the water line. Any ideas?

    Thanks

What does "HC" mean?

The HC code indicates that the computer thinks the cold water inlet is getting hot water. The hot water inlet has the cold water coming in. Take off the inlet hoses and double check your water lines. If needed, swap the connections. While you have the hoses off, clear the filters and check for leaks. Check the flow rate and replace the hoses if the water flow is restricted. (Anti-burst hoses can reduce the flow when they detect a leak.)

If the hot water supply is correctly connected to the hot water inlet, then the electronic control board is getting faulty information. Unplug the washer for several minutes. If the code repeats, then the valve may be faulty. Alternative causes of the problem are the hoses, the wiring or the control board.

I hope this helps.

Maytag Epic Z Washer F-20, Water Inlet replaced, still F-20 Error

Chris an F-20 is usually a clogged filter on duet washers. Did you go by the tech sheet in your machine? It gives the codes and remedys and is in a jacket behind the kickplate which you remove to get to the filter. You will need a quarter inch nutdriver to gain access.

My cabrio washer shows a code HC...what does this mean?

HC will flash when the hot and cold inlet hoses are reversed. Make sure your inlet hoses are connected correctly. That should correct the issue.

My whirlpool top load washer is leaking out the front side, no hoses are leaking.

Hello there:
Your washer can develop several types of leaks. I will post this solution in 2 seperate posts for you ok?
You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:
During fill only If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these: Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it. The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak. Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak. During drain and spin only A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details. All the time If the washer leaks all the time, check these: Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

What does HC stand for?

According to the Whirlpool "Cabrio" washer installation and maintenance manual, (Cabrio is the Sears Oasis) the HC code will come up when.

"
“HC” (Cold and Hot hoses switched)
This code will appear at the end of the wash
cycle to indicate that the cold and hot water
inlet hoses are switched. If an error code
does not appear, but you are experiencing
poor washing performance, check to see
whether the inlet hoses are reversed. See
“Connect the Inlet Hoses.”

My cabrio washing machine will only wash hot or cold, and you have to change the hose on the back to do so. Not matter what the setting is I have to change the hose on the back to get hot or cold water...

sounds to me like you have a bad inlet valve with one bad coil.however i dont know the model we are talking about ,and there is a small possibility it could be the temp switch (unless its a digital model).but..i would REPLACE the inlet valve

LF Code coming on during rinse cycle

Long Fill LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change. • Is water supply connected and turned on? • Are hose screens plugged? • Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

Special water hose needed?

i dont know of of a"special hose". are we talking about water inlet (hot and cold) hoses??drain hose??? or a vent hose for dryer???
1. stainless steel non-bursting fill hoses are available in up to 6' lentgh's
2. drain hose can be extended if need be, i would make it as short of an extension as needed, and use a hose of atleast the existing diameter and make sure that it wont, bent or pinch off after putting into drain pipe
3. dryer venting should be a solid aluminum 4" pipe as shosrt as possible with least amount of elbows needed.
all available at a quaitly home improvemnet store/ hardware store
