You can power scan for the code. But sony code for dishnet work is usually 500 press and hold clear tv key until flashes release button enter 500 then pound key try red tv key if it shuts off tv you won't need power scan directions,

Turn ON the electronic device you want to program the remote to control.
Press the TV Mode button on the remote until the appropriate mode light is flashing.

Press the Power button. The mode light will stop flashing and stay lit.
Press the Up or Down arrow button to set the remote to the next code. The Down arrow button scans backward and the Up arrow button scans forward.
When the correct code is reached, the device (whether a TV, VCR, or other) will turn off.

Press the pound key button to store the code in the remote control memory. If the code is valid for your remote, the mode light will blink 3 times.
Turn the device back ON by pressing the Power button.
Press sat mode key once you power back on the tv to be able to operate the receiver box.
Try some other functions to make sure you have the correct code. Occasionally the Power button may work when others do not.
If the other buttons work you are finished.

If the other buttons do not work, repeat the previous steps. The scan will resume from the last code stored.
The mode light will flash rapidly when the scan has returned to the starting point and all codes have been tested for that mode. The remote control may not control some device models.

YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE OPTICAL BLOCK; I don't think you're going to get much help from Sony at this time. The cost to make the repairs are not cost effective on a unit of this age.

Optical Block needs replacing

unfortunately the optical blockissue kills any resale value except for the chassis boards value for used boards. Parting it out will be your best bet as alot of people may be needing the boards.

Our Sony TV Model KDS60A2000 screen is black with only Video 4 on screen, has green lite showing the TV is on, however, does not have picture. Could it be the lamp?

It could be but if it is the lamp you wont be able to see anything on the screen, the screen would be black. You sould check the lamp if it looks old and burned out you may want to replace it. If you do replace it make sure not to touch the glass lens on the new lamp.

TV goes black for about 15 seconds then comes back. happens about 3 or 4 times an hour. Could this be the bulb goinh bad? Model KDS60A2000

Please try disconnecting all the cables from the TV including the power cord then reconnecting them after a few minutes.
Ensure that the power cord from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.
Furthermore, you may try resetting the TV to the original factory settings.

Follow the steps given below to reset the TV to the original factory settings:
(i) Turn ON the TV.
(ii) While holding down the Up arrow button on the Remote Control supplied with the TV, press the power button on the TV.
(iii) Release the Power button then release the Up arrow button.
The Tv will turn itself off then back ON again with Initial Setup.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then service will be required. In this case, you may contact Sony Service center to get the TV diagnosed for any potential Hardware issues. If the issue is found to be related to the Optical block of the TV then service will be offered by Sony at no cost.

Please refer to the link given below to view detailed information on warranty extended by Sony on Optical block:

Sony KDS60A2000 shuts off after about being on for 10 minutes, gives a warning set will turn off as it is overheating. Vacummed around the vents and that hasn't made any difference.

check all the fans and make sure they are clean and not plugged up w/dust.also check how many times the red light flashes on the front of the tv after shutting down.4 flashes indicates a bad fan.
