Please ensure the writing software you are using is set to write to a disk - not to make an image file or to test writing on the disk. Perhaps try another writing software such as nero.

My burner says that its burning to the cd but then the cd ends up still been blank

hello sir,
Try to burn the same Cd's in some of your friends computer and see if that works or not cause you would then be knowing that it is your burner which is at fault. Or else try disconnecting and reconnecting the cables of the Cd writer and also uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for it and see if that can work. If it is under warranty then try to replace it.

It is unable to burn discs

Has it ever been used to burn a disk?
Have you used the correct type of disk that the drive supports?
Have you tried different software, Download a couple of free programs ( CD BurnerXP. IMGBURN. Ashampoo)
Is it a CD/DVD ROM, and now a Writer?
Still no luck, write back

Im a learner so please could you help me i try to record on a cd it goes through all the correct proceads then when i ask for it to burn it starts shows that its working after a moment or so it says its...

Check whether you are putting the proper CD, I mean to say that its a blank CD. It could also be possible that your CD is bad.

Secondly you can also clean your CD writer using the cleaner.

There are certain CDs which are not compatible with the burner. Try using a different CD of a different make.

To my knowledge, that is a firmware issue. Go to and click the last link, which is the firmware for your updated firmware. Install that, and try again. If you have any problems, repost and i can try helping again.

Recording tab inthe properties of the cd drive is absent

Are you sure it's a blank CD? You can't write to a CD that has already been written to and "finalized"

If this is a new CD player, it should have the letters CD-RW printed on the front. If not, it's a reader only.

If you've used the CD writer before, go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager, and delete the CD player. Then reboot, and it will discover the player, and install the drivers again.

Maxell cd-r 700mb- where have my pictures gone??!

use cdr's and allow multisession in your settings. Get rid of roxio and use nero 7.5 or above. Roxio tries to format cd-rws all the time if you have all features installed. bakup program keeps wanting to format cdrw. so use cdr's instead..Use the data disk option. That will copy your pics fine.
