A HDMI splitter enables you to display the same image on multiple monitors or TVs. The key is that signal needs to split at the source like DVD player, DVR, cable box etc. You can split the signal from a TV. If you are looking for quality HDMI Splitter products I would recommend checking KVMSwitchTech.

Unfortunetly that won't work. The tv has no way of generating a signal it can only receive signals. What you do is put the splitter prior to the signal getting to the tv. That would give you two identical hdmi outputs or signals.

There are two types of hdmi splitters one is active and the other is passive. The cheap one is the passive and you can find those for about $15 and up. They are just a cable with two outputs. The active one is a electronic box and will provide 2 or more outlets.

The passive one is tempting as it is so cheap but you have to be aware that the signal can be degraded sometimes and this will be seen as noise, spots etc basically your picture won't be as good. Some tv's won't even accept the signal if it gets too low.

The active one uses powered electronics to split the signal and maintain the strength and data. They are a a 'weeee' bit more expensive at around $250 but are the proper way to do it.

Try the cheap one first then at worst you are only out $15. These are available at most chain stores selling tv's.

I have a 60in LG Plm TV and a board went out. Someone told me I need a HDMI SPLITTER I had a Rako and a XBMCMART box running in to it they said it blew that board bc I had to much running in to it.

Your TV has 2 HDMI inputs . One for your Roku the other for your XBMCMART box. Did you have a 3rd device you need to connect? If you do then get a HDMI selector switch . Splitters are ment to send a picture to 2 TV's from a DVD player or some other OUTPUT device.

I need help setting hooking up my DVD player to my hisense tv

There are 3 options for connecting a DVD player to a television. HDMI, Component or VGA. The most common, and best, these days is HDMI which requires 1 cable, called a HDMI cable, between the player and television. These input / output sockets are clearly marked & there is usually about 3 of them on most televisions. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3. The next is component. These consist of 4 separate connections. RED, GREEN, BLUE & YELLOW. Again simply connect like to like. The third (VGA) are RED, WHITE & YELLOW. Same deal, simply connect like to like on player and set. Once one of the connections are made select SOURCE on the television remote and select the connection that you have made. Cheers

My cable box is hooked up but no signal can u tell me whats wrong

If you hookup your TV directly to the coaxial cable, bypassing the cable-box, do you get a few channels? If so, then the coaxial cable is carrying a signal, which is good.

How are you hooking the output from the cable-box to the input(s) on the TV? Coaxial output port on box to coaxial input port on TV?
Red/blue/green "component" outputs on box to matching inputs on TV? Red/White audio outputs on box to red/white inputs on TV? HMDI output from box to HDMI input on TV?

You have to "tell" the TV which of the inputs:
* coaxial (with TV set to Channel 3 or 4)
* component
* HDMI
to "listen" to.

How do I cable this connection please?

It depends what input connection the second TV has available. You cannot directly daisy chain HDMI cable from Apple TV to the two TVs assuming both have HDMI input. But you can purchase an HDMI 1x2 splitter and connect the 3 up provided the 2nd TV also has HDMI. The challenge maybe the distance you can have between the two TVs. Max is 15 meter but you could cascade 2 units to create longer distances.

No Audio on Multiple Plasma tv's connected via 1*2 hdmi splitter

Too many connections here---likely a hookup issue if both sets work alone and frankly the wrong way to do this.

How to connect dish tv to my laptop? It has inbuilt tv tuner.

Your Lenovo laptop can be hooked up your TV if you have a model that is capable of TV output. Newer models with HDMI ports can easily connect to newer TVs that have HDMI input jacks. For older laptops or TVs, you will need other adapters or cables. The most common of these is an S-video jack, which has a small round connector with several pins arranged in a circle. For S-video connections, you will need to hook up the audio from your laptop to your TV separately.

Things You'll Need

HDMI cable

USB-to-HDMI adapter

OR

S-video cable

Audio cables

HDMI Connection

Turn on your Lenovo laptop and HDMI-enabled TV.

Connect one end of your HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your laptop. Lenovo's IdeaPad series has these ports. If you have a ThinkPad or other Lenovo model, connect a USB-to-HDMI adapter to your HDMI cable, then plug the USB end of the adapter into any USB port.

Press the "FN" and "F7" keys on your keyboard. This will switch the laptop's display to the TV. You can then use your TV screen as a monitor or use the laptop's DVD drive to watch movies on your TV.

S-Video Connection

Turn off your laptop and TV. Connect your S-video cable to the laptop on one end and the TV on the other.

Plug audio cables into your audio out jacks on the laptop. If you do not have stereo audio output, you can use the headphone/speaker jack. Add a splitter adapter to split the sound into stereo instead of mono (single speaker). Plug the other ends of the audio cables into your TV.

Turn on the laptop and let it boot up. Then turn on the TV. Right-click on your desktop screen, then select "Properties."

Click the "Settings" tab, the "Advanced" button, then "ATI displays" or "Display device" or the similarly worded option, depending on your system. It is not the "On screen displays" option in any version.

Click on the option that suits your system, such as "TV" or "LCD." Click "Apply," then "Yes" to confirm, if necessary. Click "OK" to exit. Your display should be visible on the TV screen. If not, try pressing "FN" and "F7" to toggle the display to the external screen.

Hi, when I turn off the power for the tv, the power keeps turning back on by itself every time I turn it off

I had the same problem with mine (same model) purchased Oct. 2010. I also have a Sharp 52 LCD. I was using an HDMI Splitter purchased from Monoprice to slave the Toshiba to the HD output of Dish's VIP722 receiver, because the 722 outputs only one HD video signal and on a separate RG6 connector outputs standard definition for a second display. Well, as the bedroom TV is usually tuned to the same channel as the family room TV, I decided slaving the VIP722 HD output was a better solution than paying Dish a monthly fee for a second receiver. To shorten this story; the problem seemed to be caused by the HDMI splitter. I purchase a higher price splitter from Comp USA and when I connected it the problem disappeared. I hope this helps you. Oh, I feed the outputs of the splitter to two separate Yamaha (models 667 and 367) AV amps and from the amps to the TVs.

I have a avr-5808CI, when I hook up my bluray player with hdmi cable the blu-ray says 7.1dts hd and my system only outputs 5.1 dolby. I know you need 7.1 analoge out but is my system so obsolete. Is there...

no way to upgrade your pre-amp, but you can just use some simple little RCA Y-Splitters on the rear outputs to essentially give you 4 rear outputs to your amp like with 7.1.

however, true 7.1 each signal is unique.

at some point when it comes time to upgrade, check out Outlaw Audio. They make killer stuff at factory direct prices.
