My phone will not turn on

Charge it. Once the battery is depleted, if you plug the phone into a charger, the phone will for some time refuse to show any life even while plugged into a charger. If you have some sort of fast charger, it may come to life almost immediately. Otherwise, you are in for a bit of a wait. How long? -An eternity if you need to make an immediate call or receive on. Otherwise, my "guess" is that it will at least work briefly within a half hour.

Make sure your charger IS plugged into the wall to a working wall socket.

If you accidentally completely powered it down, simply power it up. Seems obvious but you have to eliminate the possibility.

There is always a possibility that the battery is not holding a charge. Ask yourself how old is the battery.

How to turn on a ZTE z812 phone that won't turn on

Sounds like the charger is broken or the phone is broken. You need to do one of two things. Put your phone on a charger that is known to work or a phone that is know to work on your charger.

The internal batteries can fail. The ZTE is 'cheap' phone.

Lg thrill wont charge

Date: May 16, 2014

I have an LG Thrill 4G. My phone just went thru an issue where it wouldn't charge past 4%. Sometimes, it wouldn't go past 2%, so I had to leave it on the charger ALL the time - or risk it dying, completely.

For days, the only services shown on my battery usage were:
Cell Standby: 33%
Bluetooth: 33%
Phone Idle: 32%
Display: 2%

I replaced the battery with a brand new one - NOTHING changed. Battery still sat around 2-4% for the entire day, while on the charger. So, I started uninstalling apps like crazy - just to see what would happen.

NOTHING. Same thing.

So, I decided to at least install the Facebook app back...and the upgraded version had to be installed - so I did it.

VOILA!!! My phone instantly started charging ...8%...14%...24%...52%...80%...91%...all over a period of about an hour. Just a constant charge going up a few percentage points every few minutes...

...and all of a sudden, started going back down pretty rapidly when it hit 92%. Within maybe 3mins, the charge went from 92% to 78% - and I wasn't using the phone. I was just watching the meter drop 2 percentage points over a period of a few seconds, each time. I decided to quickly turn the phone off at 78% but left it on the charger.

After roughly 5mins, I turned the phone back on, just to see what the charge would be sitting at. WOULDN'T YA KNOW - 3%.

How can battery life go from 78% to 3% - while it's OFF - within a 5min span??? Therefore, my question is: was it really charged to 78% when I turned the phone off? Or was the battery meter being "tricked" by some app that might be installed?

The first battery it did this to was the 1500mah. Used that battery for like 3 days of this before I replaced it. The battery the scenario above JUST happened to is my new 3500mah battery, and it's been giving this 3500mah battery the 3% capacity for a whole day and a half now...

My phone will not hold a charge at all. I've taken the battery out, let it set, put it back in for a few minutes and still no charge. The longest the phone lasts without dying is 10 minutes

Hello

Remove the battery and test it with a similar phone to ee if it will hold charges, if it does, it means the battery is good, but if otherwise change the battery.

Next place to look at is the charging port, check with a similar battery and charger to see if it will charge, if it doesnt, change the charging port.

Also test your charger with another similar phone to see if it will charge, if it does, it means the charger is good.

Best regards.

My battery went dead this morning i charged it this evening and it is just showing a battery and timer wont switch on or charge??

from what I hear, you have either fully charged your battery or your battery is pretty much completely dead.

your options:

1. If it's completely dead and won't hold a charge it's time to purchase another battery, this happens from time to time so don't freak out about it.
2. If it's fully charged, try taking the battery completely out of the phone, and re-inserting it after a few minutes, sometimes cell phones need to be reset.
3. ensure that your charger is working properly, if its not getting juice to it neither is your phone.
4. try to dial your number just to see what happens to the phone.
5. if someone else u know has a charger like yours try to borrow theirs to charge your phone possibly ruling out a bad charger

Suspect Battery is Dead But Not Completely Certain

In my 30+ years of servicing battery operated devices, I have to tell you that 95% of the time, it's a bad battery.

Question1 : I agree that it should operate on outlet power. Perhaps the battery has a shorted cell and is eating up all of the charger's available current. Chargers have a limited amount of capacity.

Question2: Charge the battery then remove it from the phone. It should be slightly warm to the touch if you touch it within a few minutes of completion. If you have access to a DC Voltmeter, let the battery sit for a couple hours and check the voltage. It should be at least (usually higher) what is written on it. Other than that, replacing it is the only other way.

Hope that helps...
