Question about ASUS Eee PC 900HD Netbook

1 Answer

It wont boot

My eee pc 900HD will not boot. It appears to be stuck in some sort of loop. Continually returning to the boot screen with options of start windows normall or safe mode, etc... Even when I F8 it just returns to the same screen. I can see a flash of windows during this process, but it never fully surfaces - just keeps going back and starting over again.

I dont have the DVD (didnt come with one). How do I fix this? I have tried the reset on bottom of machine and F9 but nothing works.

A Windows file is corrupt.

The 900HD comes with a bootable disc when bought as new. This is the only way you can restore the unit.

To check if F9 is working, go into BIOS by pressing F2 at start up and turn off boot booster and try again.

With a usb dvd drive, you can use a windows install disc and go into the recovery console and do chkdsk /r to see if that will sort things

To invalidate your warranty, you could remove the hard drive and slave it to another pc and run chkdsk /r on it to see if that works. If you don't know how to do this, take it to a repair shop.

Acer 5733z-4633 is stuck in a sort of boot loop. Won't enter bois setup or boot device options screen. Is this a hard drive issue?(it kinda makes a funny clicking noise then starts all over to try

Yes! it does sound like the hard drive is bad, remove hardware to see if you can enter bios and boot device, if yes the hard drive needs to be replaced, if no change there is a secondary problem.

Loaded vista due to bad virus. comp not showing wifi card or any ? in device manager. Asus eee pc 900HD

Hey there,
When your computer isn't displaying a piece of hardware in your Device Manager, the best thing to do with it is to go to the manufacturer's website of that wireless adapter and re-install the Drivers. That should at least get it listed in the Device Manager.
If you require any additional assistance, please return to this page and post a response. I will be happy to assist you further.

I have a asus eee pc 900hd, and all of a sudden when the computer starts up, the screen immediately is black with a blinking white cursor. Any suggestions on the problem?

Either you have an operating system problem.or memory issue.

First, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date.

If still a problem, disconnect all cables. Remove the battery. Remove the memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test). Reinsert the battery. Connect all cables and boot.

Hope this helps.

Having problems with my monitor display. Can only see about half of the screen. The remaining area is black. I've turned the computer on and off, removed the battery, restarted with a/c power only.

with a bit of luck you might have a restorable image of the operating system on your hard drive.
press F9 whilst booting to reach the recovery screen(every other boot)
highlight option
discscan--cleans corrupted filesystem--press "E" then"B"
restore to factory settings again"E" then"B".
this will reinstall OS beware all files will be lost and machine will be reset to default original

I have a eee pc 900hd and I keep getting the safe mode option

if a blue screen pops up with white writing theres something seriously wrong with your laptop a blue screen on a computer is the worst possible thing that could happen apart from the thing actually exploding and can be caused by a wide range of things, my suggestion would be to reinstall windows as it will basically give you brand new computer with no errors

I have a asus eee 900hd pc wont type the key board

It's probably a hardware failiure, but it could also be a loose connection, if it's loose, you need to open up the laptop, which I would suggest being very careful on. If you have a warranty, get support and such. There's a virtual keyboard on control panel's accessibility options in Windows XP. I'm not sure about Vista.
