Yes, you can record sound that comes from audio cassette player into DVD recorder or VHS recorder in one condition that provide video signal as well as DVD recorder or VHS recorder requires video signal necessarily for recording.
For example, provide video output of camcorder to DVD recorder/ VHS recorder and plug audio output of audio cassette player along with and burn DVD/ record VHS.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

    ===============================================

    Yes, because video signal is also used as reference in recording process to control mechanism of DVD or VHS.
    Actually video signal carries few other signals like Sync, Color Burst, Blanking etc.

My Magnavox Digital Disc Recorder & Video Cassette Recorder will not play DVD-RW discs. How can I solve this problem or get a replacement unit.

It claims to play -RWs finalized in DVD-VIDEO format, not VR. If a disc is recorded/finalized on a different recorder, not all players can play it. This is the price we pay for the convenience of the digital system.

I have 10 year old tv Phillips model ts3258c101.Yesterday I purchased a digital video disk player & video cassette recorder. It will play a dvd. I now have found that I cannot record a video cassette...

Check if your disc player is a twin tuner model which will allow you to do what you want. It might just need configuring properly. Otherwise there are devices on sale that will allow you to achieve your goal. Good luck.

Connect audio components for recording Cassette to CD

Try this since you do not supply model numbers. If your receiver and CD have digital audio connector (coaxil or fiber) hook the receiver output to the cd input.

If you do not, see if there is a spare set of RCA jacks for output. If not, just hook up the cd player in the cassette jacks-there is always a cassette in and out-and hook your cd player to an auxillary input or use the cd player input.

Remeber though, cassettes have inherently more noise than cd so your cds will not sound like a pre-packed cd.

Swop the CDR into the tape outputs on the amp and use it just like the tape recorder you had hooked up. Also do a direct digital link to a CD player for digital copies.

Lost the manual, can't get hooked up

You need to use an audio CDr, data or computer CDr's will not work in this machine. I don't know this specific machine, but usually you select the input, then 'rec type' eg manual,1 track or 1 disc,then press record to get into record pause,start your source,then press play on the unit to start recording. To finalize, you press finalize then either the play or rec button to start the finalize process.
