Question about Sewing Machines

I used the embroidery bobbin sewing and now it's not functioning

I accidently used the embroidery bobbin while sewing with my Bernina artista 730 and now it doesn't stitch properly. It makes noise and the needle broke. When I spin the freehand wheel the metal surrounding the bobbin clicks and hits the needle as it spins. I assume it's misaligned. It won't sew. How do I fix it myself?
Thanks

I do not believe the bobbin thread is the reason for the problem.

Refer to your manual for maintenance, especially cleaning the bobbin area.

When you replace the bobbin case be sure the needle is in it's highest position and this will also set the shuttle in position to properly accept the case.

If the problem continues, then machine will need to go into the shop. If the timing needs to be adjusted, this is best done by a Bernina tech.

Viewer states problem - but cannot correct.

Hi, if you look in the bobbincase you will see a round spring. Sometimes this gets moved and it blocks the hole the sensor reads through. Clean inside the bobbincase with a q-tip. Also clean the sensor lens on the door with a q-tip. Also try rewinding a bobbin but don't start with the thread through a hole in the bobbin.
Hope this helps.

I know this is a long-overdue response, but maybe it will help someone else. I had the same problem, and it turned out that the cause was that my bobbins had oxidized. Rubbing them with a bit of steel wool or fine-grain sandpaper did the trick, and I was up and running again.
