EMachine model 1300G running XP. no audio

EMachine model 1300G running XP. 24 hours ago I lost all audio. Including computer sounds. Have been through the dummy check-list. No sound from speakers or headphones. Reloaded the RealTec drivers from the eMachine support page with negative results. The only sound I have is when using my headphones I can still function on Skype. If I install a soundcard will that bypass the sound chip and return my audio?

You betcha

this what you do, You go to your bios by F2 or whatever command that enters setup. You diasable the onboard sound card first. Go out and puchase a nice sound car around $40 bucks respectivly put it into a pci slot install your drivers and your good to go. remeber you speakers connect now to the back of the new sound card outputs not the one onboard.

Here is what i think what happend the back of the computer where the previous sound card was or still is those jacks may have died on you so you headphones that are plugged into the frount hack work and so will your speakers but i know its a hassel but a new sound card will take care of this iisue.

thanks i hope this information does help please do leave ratings and postive feedback for your free solution.

Testimonial: "I appreciate the rapid response. FYI eMachines uses a chip integrated on the motherboard rather than a soundcard. Again, thanks."

I know it does its on the motherboard and its intergraded I was simply saying you can disable that and put in a sound card, I was not saying anything to the contrary of what you are informing me of.

Theres no sound from my 1300g spearkers

Double check to see if the volume on your computer tower (if there's a knob for it) isn't muted, and make sure you haven't muted the sound in windows (see the speaker icon in the bottom right).

The computer is in a loop after a power failure. All wires are in the same place but it says NO SIGNAL. How can I returned back? The mouse is not working. The machine is EL 1300G-02W and has installed...

if the screen says no signal it is likely that the video card has sustained damage. If this is integrad=ted in the board (as on budget machines) it is time for a new PC

My sound card is not installed on my computer because i did the recovery. where can i download one? it's a eMachines windows XP T Series T5048

Here's a link to the Emachine support page for your model. Scroll down to audio section and you should be able to download your sound drivers. If the sound still doesn't work after doing this download the chipset drivers and then try downloading the audio drivers again. Sometimes you need the chipset drivers first before the audio drivers will work.
